Fzj80 cruise control shutout while driving..HELP

I am a believer in "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", but if it is broken, finding out why is a better approach than guessing. On board diagnostics is the lazy mans way.

Well, i've done the test procedure and from what i recall it said open circuit. Slee thought it might be a bashed in trailer wiring harness... so i cut the darn thing off somewhere in route from Moab to his shop. That worked for a while. Then i was having issues with my TPS so i thought maybe that was the culprit. I replaced it and that didn't fix the problem. Then i noticed the connectors were really gummed up so i cleaned them and that helped the most. But, it still cuts out every so often.

Mine does the same cutting out. I found that if I took the CC cover off and pulled the CC wire it would work the next time I drove....so maybe I need to clean mine.
