Fully Automatic Factory Service Manual (FSM) Downloading

That was my guess too, but I added every derivation of toyota.com I could think of and no luck. I also tried (the dreaded) MS IE and no luck (just a slighter longer delay before closing the new window).

I'll start looking at firewall issues?

I had the same problem. Switched to IE7 and same thing. Took a look at the source, made a url from the source that pointed to the cgi-bin /....../.pl file and when I pasted that into the prowser a pop-up blocker icon FINALLY appeared. This did not appear when I just clicked on the link from within the TIS search results page. I allowed all pop-ups for the toyota site and now the search results window works.

Good luck,

Nate,

I finally got around to downloading the FSM that I needed, very smooth process. Thanks a bunch because there is no way I would have ever been able to do this without your efforts.

Now for the request the 1997 Land Cruiser owner's manual and the FSM for the 1990 Land Cruiser.

Thx a bunch!!! Works great!

Only thing is I go the cetificate error, and no folders or files were created. Seems like you must log in copy cookie, start process, while staying logged in with Firefox. Otherwise it gives you a certificate error in the batch file processing and no files or directories gets created.

I believe Nate specifically mentioned this in the instructions.

NaterGator, I just wanted to inform you of some little errors I found:

in the "1991 Toyota Previa New Car Features" manual, there are two folders containing the exact same PDF files. The folders are called "Body" and "Body Electrical". I checked out the Downloader folder (from the 1991 Previa package) and the files "Body.txt" and "Body+Electrical.txt" contain the exact same text. I think you may have accidentally included a duplicate.

in the "1991 Toyota Previa New Car Features" manual's folder titled "Introduction and Model Code", there are 3 files with a ".1" suffix (appended to the ".PDF" file extension). The files have the same names as the other 3 PDF's in the folder, however, the files with the ".1" suffix are not identical to their (otherwise normal) ".PDF" counterparts. No real problem exists, but I'm just curious what these ".1" files are and if they were included inadvertently.

Everything else has been 100% perfect!:beer:

PS: sorry I am a parenthetical-maniac!

Guys, I just got to work today and the building with my office in it caught on fire today before I got here.

My internet access will be sporadic at best until the building is fixed. I will try to keep on top of this thread though.

Nate,

Just ran the process and downloaded for my 93 LC (as well as the 94). Many thanks from a noob who's just beginning to learn his way around. This will definitely shorten the learning curve!

Sorry to hear about your office. Hope no one was hurt and your stuff remained intact.

Thanks again!:D

1994 T100 all available manuals

Nate,

Could you post 1994 T100 all available manuals. I'll wait for post before getting the subscription.

Thanks in advance

Natergater- Any chance you could do the 93 Lexus GS300?

Just a general note for everyone.

After you download the files, just check all the folders created. I found for both the 2003 4Runner and 2006 Prius that some folders were empty. I went back to the download.bat file and found that there were some uneeded spaces by the "folders text" for the files that should be downloaded into those folders. Fixed the bat files adn it worked like a charm.

Tip: You can just copy out the lines of the bat file that are affected adn save it to a new .bat file. Then just run that to copy just the missing files.

bulldog, can you send me a PM with some of the affected line?

thanks

new member with a few questions

Hi, guys. I was looking for some info on my 2001 Tacoma and stumbled onto this site. Looks great and I'm glad to be here. Now my questiions. Is it possible to down load the 2001 Tacoma manuals on a dial-up connection, that disconnects you after anywhere from 1-4 hours of use, with a 24 hour TIS subscription. If so, will I need to reset the cookie every time I get disconnected. Thanks to NaterGator and everyone else for any help. Larry

Larry,
I don't know if you can get all the manuals DL'd within the timeout period that you describe. You'll have to time it and let us know what speed you got connected and how long it takes.

However, if you get disconnected, you will need to reset the cookie.

Beowulf, Thanks for the response. After posting, I found a 2003(almost the same as the 2001) Tacoma manual, wiring manual and new features in one download. About 40.8M . It took about 2 hours at about 5/Kbs. Anyway, I still think I'll do the fully automatic soon and I'll post back with results. Thanks again, Larry
