Fuel filter and location for Holley Sniper

Does your fuel pump have a filter or at least a sock on the inlet? If your adding one rated for your fuel pressure I'd locate it low in the engine compartment down by the frame where its easy to get to and away from heat but that's just me.

Build Thread 'Holley Sniper/Desmog Install - Tilda Bogue Service Station'

I've been meaning to do a Holley Sniper install thread separate from a build thread and the perfect vehicle came in to do one.

I'll work on this thing this week and document the way I do it. It may not be the way you do it. It may not be the best way to do it.

This truck is perfect because it's fully smogged so we can cover both in one place.

1981 FJ40.

I've done over 30 of these things so I can give you my thoughts and insights along the way. Feel free to chime in. Most of my threads get totally derailed so I'm sure this won't be any different

Mine is fitech. Pic of in tank pump on my 1970 40. And the filter on inner fender. Fuel filter is black round dingus that says “Flow”. Pump has flat oem stle filter on suction end in tank.

You can run a filter/regulator just in front of the crossmember and then just a short run for the return back to the fuel pump module.
 
Remind us attached to the down side section of the frame behind the front tire. I use two hardlines attached to the frame like OEM and into the Corvette filter eliminating the return line…this is mid install…only 1 line showing

“REMIND US” ?? DAMN AUTO-CORRECT…. Mine is ( meaning the fuel filter)
 
I had bent the hard lines except for the one directly to the efi. It still needed re-shaping around the valve cover. I’m always thinking about a project after the job is done that might just be a better way to go so maybe this spring, I’ll change that to a return hardline as well but…probably not.

That auto-correct has made me look like I have no idea what’s going on with several comments. Until I re-read it and discover my “error”
 
I can’t remember what filter mine is, maybe earls? Has -an fittings on each end that I put quick connects on to my hard line to engine. Soft line is just where it transitions from body to frame for flex. Tanks, Inc in tank pump with inlet sock. Pic of the tray and sending unit is reference of where I put my pump to clear sender and tank baffles, as well as be in the deepest part of tank.
