Use the TIS docs at the top level, not the GSIC docs. GSIC is for non-US. TIS is for US. The TIS wiring diagrams for your 2014 will point you to

You probably won't find a printed version because the body repair, wiring diagram, and repair manual for 2008 is 6,998 pages. I mean, I suppose you could print it if you hate trees...

If you need a digital FSM (either online website or PDF) for any USA LC/LX model 1990-2018 or Australia/China/Europe/GCC version LC/LX 100/200-series PM me. It's bootable, so you can use it on Mac, old Windows, or pretty much any Intel PC.

No cost, you just need to find a 64GB USB key/drive to put it on.
I could use the link for a 2013 LX570 please

@linuxgod any way to get this for a 2015 LC without using torrents? Thanks!

Someone once had a copy on an amazon drive but it's no longer available there. Maybe someone will be kind enough to post it publicly on a google drive or dropbox? I only have the freebie 5GB accounts and the ISO is 40GB.

I never stopped in to thank you for this. I finally got it fully loaded with the web browser today. I had just been opening PDFs previously. Works way better this way, now have a laptop for all my TIS and Techstream needs.

It looks like I may have some time to update my FSM compilation over the holidays this year. Right now I only have LC/LX through 2018, so the plan would be to update with the US docs through 2021. I don't have access to non-US docs so those wouldn't change. A few questions for those interested:
  • What do those using the FSM ISO like or dislike about it? i.e. do many of you use the bootable function? should I focus on making the Abyss webserver an easier install/config? There's a lot I can't easily change based on the way it works but I'll take requests and do my best.
  • Because the ISO is pretty big (>40GB) I've considered a few potential changes, such as:
    • Generate a different, much smaller ISO for a specific year
    • Separate LC vs LX, or 80 vs 100 vs 200
  • Does anyone have a TIS subscription that they're willing to share (loan out, really) for a week? I think I need more than 2 days, and the monthly subscription is $90 IIRC

I still need to look into the ISO functionality, but depending on the work involved for you I could see it being really useful to have things broken out by year. Most people on trips will only be worried about a single vehicle.

And if you can't find a full TIS subscription please let me know. I'd be happy to pitch in to support this project.

The way you have it set up now is very clear with your directions. There's nothing I don't like about it. I could see it being broken up by year being useful but not totally necessary. The abyss web server is fine to use and like I said, your directions are very clear. I would be very interested in an updated version to include 2021. Thanks for everything you do!

Also very interested in an updated version since I own a 2020 LC. Breaking it up by year and/or model would definitely be useful to a lot of people as it would minimize the size of the ISO that needs to be downloaded, but that sounds like a LOT of extra work for you.

I was able to get the extracted ISO to work under IIS in Windows without much trouble and agree that your documentation is fine as is.

I would also be willing to make a contribution towards a TIS subscription if you can't find one to borrow.

If a bunch of us got together and chipped in a ten spot or a twenty, it'd pay for that subscription in no time. I'd be willing to chip in.

I've never been able to successfully get the content into the bootable thumbdrive format.

PM me if you need more Venmo participants.

I would also happily pay for a month of TIS for this. I really appreciate what you are doing here! PM me.

At some level it's not, since everything is basically contained in it's own folder anyway. But it likely means either the top level menu ends up super-basic (white page, plain text with a few links) if I'm going to try to automatically create 50 versions from the compilation I have.

TBH I sorta considered going this route early on but hesitated because having one (giant) file to distribute is much easier than keeping track of 50 smaller ones, and now that it's available as a torrent it's especially helpful (faster download) to have more people seeding less files. But I'm still considering it, though ultimately I will likely update the big-ass ISO first because that's easier since it's just an incremental change.

For me, personally, it really doesn't matter too much. Disk space is plentiful and cheap and I have a 1Gb Internet connection (up and down), so the large download isn't a big deal. So my vote is to do what works best for you.

I'm in to help and will support whatever you do to improve functionality.
