Well I just got back for purchasing a FJ55 at lunch today. I had two FJ40s in 1998-2000 but had to switch to mini trucks/4runners due to maintainance costs and time while attending school. But have been on the hunt for the last couple years for the right deal.

I bought "Frostie" for $700 and figured it was a good deal with the misc parts it came with. Here are some pictures I took while I was buying it but once I have it home will take way more.

Doors are in great shape.
Hood is in good shape.
Even the gutters are in good shape, just surface rust

Looking forward to asking lots of questions....once I get home from work!!! hahaha

What month of '74? Early F or Late F? 3 or 4 speed tranny?

It is a Oct 1973 build and a 3 speed, so not sure if it actually is a 74' or 73'. But when I looked at the engine block is has the oil filter on the passenger side beside the distributor. Doesn't it make the engine a 1.5F? Here is the plate and a few more pics.

That is indeed a Late F engine...and you're sure it's a 3-speed tranny? also, can you read the build date on the carb?

I didn't shift the tranny through the gears and no sticker on the knob. They Guy said a three speed and I looked at teh build date figured it matched with the 3spd. I wasn't too concerned for the money he wanted. I don't have the build date on the carb but will get it once I tow this thing home on Monday/Tuesday.

Nice to see this one has found a home and will no longer be tempting me from Kijiji :)

Tele, are you in Calgary? Any info on that spotlight? There is a similar spotlight setup on a similarly colored pig I'm eying. :hhmm:
