Front bumper TJM vs ARB

After having wrangled with this decision a month ago, I pulled the trigger on an ARB Sahara bar order. My local ARB dealer was told 3 weeks from Seattle, but three weeks came and no bumper. They called and were now told they were just leaving AUS and would 5 weeks on the boat and 2 more in US...

So now I'm back to looking at he T3 from Slee.... This thread was helpful. Any T3 owners out there have more feedback after the length of this thread and time in the field? Specifically interested in how well the powder coat is holding up and any airbag issues.

Here are some photos of the T3 Classique just mounted a few weeks back on my 100. All in all, I like the bumper and the looks. It has some issues, being somewhat of a more budget bumper, but for the travel I'm planning it should do fine. I opted for the Warn 8000 winch with the TJM winch plate. Acknowledging some of the issues brought here, I am okay with it until I find a need for a stronger pull, at which point I'll likely be putting new bumper and armor on. For now it works and looks better. Siders will be next...

I had some issues with missing parts, which Slee jumped right on and assisted getting drop-shipped from TJM directly. If you want a TJM, Slee is the guy.

The real issue with the slee is it won't accept a warn m12000. Only the bull bars accept the m12000.

Slee's Blueberry is rated to accept an M12000 Warn.

Never needed more than my 9.5XP for any of my pulls including pulls with my heavy LC + KK in tow mired up to its frame rails in mud...

Having had both, yes TJM has better clearance by a mile. T17 mounting is much more sleek and simple. I prefer winch plate design on the TJM as well. Quality is much better. Those who don’t own a T17 have decided they are low quality. Far from the truth.

Im glad to hear you really like the build quality of the TJM bumper as I’ve been eyeing one for my wife’s LX

Im surprised to hear that the quality is better than the ARB though. There’s a thread up here showing the “welds” on the T17 and (although I could not do better myself) they weren’t near as nice as the continuous welds from a robot built ARB bumper. (I have an ARB deluxe 03+ on my 100).

I wonder if the photo was of an early model T17 and QC stepped in and made corrections?

Reading on the internet can be misleading so - Just to be clear I not taking a stab here or starting a debate. I’m literally interested in purchasing the T17 and want to make sure it’s the right choice. Any input you could offer would be well received

I really like the T-17, but I wish there was an option for a brush bar. How does the T-13 stack up? It seems like it's beefier and more like the ARB.

I have an 01 Cruiser and a ComeUp 12.5rs.
Does anyone know if it will fit in the T17?
If anyone could help by sending me the measurements between the mounting holes on the T17 winch plate that would be great.
I want to make sure they match up with my winch.

Are those Trail Taylor recovery points ? If so, do you just use the same bolt from the TJ17 to mount it to the chassis ?

They are, I used some m14x1.5x75 I think. Just ordered them online.

There are many posts about animal impacts and how an aftermarket metal bumper was relatively unfazed.

Just search for “deer”. For example:

99 + ARB + Deer + 75mph

Hit a deer today. Didnt see it until I hit it. Surprisingly completely twisted the ARB Damage on cruiser from ARB hitting it. It was a big doe though. I cant imagine the damage without the ARB

Not really. But my winch has been useful many times and I wouldn't have had it without the bumper.

I think we were in the same conundrum. Jsut last week I was going through either getting the TJ13 or TJ17. I decided to go with the TJ17 due to my needs. TJ17 is one of TJM most popular product and unfortunately they are all sold out now until the next batch.
