Still looking into this. Theoretically, a hidden winch mount should be able to work with the bumper filler, but the radiator frame mounts at the bottom of the HK unit concern me.
i have the hk and based on pics, the bumper filler plates will not work

Thanks for confirming.

I think you all are right; neither the HK nor LFD hidden winch mount will work with my bumper filler.

Any plans to revise the design to accommodate a hidden winch?
I’d love to. Someday, I myself would like a hidden winch setup, but that’s probably a ways off.

For now, I need to find 460’s local to the Denver, CO region with HK or LFD mounts to take measurements and verify final fitment on.

Any interested parties out there?

I'm in Phoenix, I'll meet you at Lake Powell :)

Have you taken a big hit on your mpg's with the bumper cut/filler plate?
Not that I’ve noticed. It’s always been pretty terrible 🤣

The red arrow is the month I cut my bumper (Nov. ‘24) and in June ‘25 I installed the bumper filler prototype.

A man after my own heart and I had the same results. No change. I posted about it when I chopped mine with the results using OBD Fusion over the same route. Have another thread somewhere on here where I measured before and after bumper chop, side steps chop, and TRD wheels with slightly larger tires but no net weight change. Zero change in MPG.

Nothing like data and replicated results. Now I remember reading your results way back when. Probably led to me to thinking that taking a saw to my GX was a reasonable thing to do.

Frontal exposed area and rotating areas are usually the largest contributors to drag and therefore fuel economy. Given that our aerodynamics are already pretty bad, just going slower gives you better MPG.

Weight is also a factor, but my guess is that our city fuel economy (i.e., stopping and going) is already so bad that adding weight doesn't really do much to change it. At least within limits.

Bigger tires, a front cut, and a roof rack barely changed my MPG at all. I can average 17 highway on 33s with those things, while I think I was getting closer to 18 completely stock.

Hey there. Local Boulder-county CO GX owner. Great looking product! I’m always impressed with what people can do that I cannot 😊

Just started the ideas of front bumper cut and this is exactly what I want to finish the look. I’ll be contacting you soon!

One question: what did you do on your side steps here from your website?
It looks elegant af and I love the look.

I believe those are the Expedition One rocker guards.
IMO, they are the most OEM+ looking rocker guards out there with the downside that they limit you to 33" tires.

Thanks! I went with these sliders because of the OEM+ look that @BC11SVT mentioned. They come with LED puddle lights, too. Expedition One

If I ever decide to go to 35’s, I’ll just plan to chop the ends of the sliders as needed, and box them in again. But yeah, if you already know you want to go bigger than 33’s, probably makes sense to go with something else. I’m thinking I’ll go to 33’s when my 32’s (265/70R17) wear out.
