FORUM CLOSING - time to upgrade!

Thanks for the effort. I have no idea what all is involved but I can readily imagine a whole lot of WTF!?! kind of stuff, another cold beer or two, walking around outside talking to the moon, etc. But thank you, the forum is a great asset for someone owning an old FJ40, especially in South America.

For our non-binary friends, this equals "thanks woody" and I second that. There is a TON of work that Woody has already put into IH8MUD, but this transition takes the cake, icing, plates and the forks. If by chance you haven't joined the Silver Star gang yet, now would be a GREAT time and a extremely positive way to say THANKS to Woody for all the hard work, constant support and the invaluable information we all glean. Here is the link to sign up: https://forum.ih8mud.com/payments.php And for only $20 a year, It's the best value on the web.

Very true! The silver star is a great deal for all involved!

Its the best $20 I've EVER spent, to those that don't have a silver star NOW is the time to get one.

I'm really hoping that supporting vendors will start to give discounts ONLY to those of us supporting the site as they do to encourage the lurkers to contribute.

Thanks! Good timing for me - just finished with MANY minor fixes of Elinore (1985 stock FJ60) to get her street ready. Now time to start on the upgrades!

Great Site. Looking forward to the new one. Been with you a long time.

all I can say is I am really glad there are people like you who understand this stuff. I can usually stumble thru using your site, but I am a tech not. I don't care when u get it up and running again. I will Jones until then, but a drink will help.

Will the private groups and private sub-forums in the clubhouse sections disappear in the site reboot? If these groups remain, will access or approval methods for access change at the time of the switch or shortly afterwards? Will the group leader maintain powers to modify user access to these groups?

I did not see these sections after an initial look, nor listings of group memberships.

Sub-forum moderation powers appear to remain the same, but will there be any additional features or powers granted? Not that I really need any, but I'm just curious.

Will it work on iOS 6 with the Mud app? I haven't update my phone. Can't view mud on a standard browser as the reception where I am is far too patchy. 1st world country 3rd world mobile Internet service.

What will I do???

20 Minutes in the morning, 20 minutes at lunch, and then whenever I get a chance to read up on fixin' up my 1997 80 series. Hope the transition is smooth and thanks for all the information this forum provides!

Good stuff, thanks!

I'm actually looking forward to the change. Having some of the new features will be helpful I bet

Layout for the Clubhouse will change (already in testing). Groups are handled differently, but remain intact. There is some customization to make it work, and I've got that all set to handle...tho it may take a day-two to get it right.

Clubhouse mod powers will be similar.
