'81 FJ40 in CO, SM420, lockrights, SR, SOA
Sold to jjhancock, enjoy the vehicle man!
Hate to list this here but times are tough and things got to go...
Specs are:
1981 FJ40, 147K miles.
Factory Power Steering
Has SM420 tranny (with old Toy 3sp bellhousing), AA adapter and stock '81 transfercase.
Double-cardan driveshafts front and rear (both from FJ60 front).
Lockright lockers front and rear (also comes with atleast one set of original spider gears).
Spring over (did myself)
Shackle reversal (with spring flipped to increase wheelbase)
Vehicle was rolled onto left side windshield frame is off a '77 and driver's door off a '77, top is 'ok' but nothing good or great at all, but it's there and although doesn't fit perfect (top is tweaked and beatup some) it's better than nothing. Hood is a bit crooked, a few dents, works fine, but would not be considered a show vehicle by any stretch.
Seats are average, driver's maybe below average, bed area has soft spray-in liner.
T/c linkage is not there, I never mod'd the original to fit after putting in the SM420. Original 4sp tranny comes with vehicle and original bellhousing and new Toyota e-brake cable and new Toy thermostat.
Engine runs good, idles high and has some emission stuff disconnected, it passed emissions here in CO with no problems at all though (tail-pipe test here for '81 and older vehicles). I suspect carb might need to be rebuilt at some point.
Currently only has shocks on the front rear shock mounts are kinda half-assed, no great place to put them after the spring-over, and the place they were they wanted to bind.
