Why does the tub need replacing, if so where are the pics of why?:hhmm:

Looks like nice cruiser, find out which shop has worked on it and call them and ask. My guess may be Safari in Grand Junction

Almost bought this a few months ago. Tub and floors are pretty rusted out on this one. Has been for sale for a long time. Very mechanically sound and well taken care of. Much has been gone through to make it safe for his family. Owner was looking to get low to mid $20,000's for it.

Greenbeast - I talked to the owner and you're right about Safari in G.J. They did the maintenance when he lived near there (he may have even originally purchased it from there).

Schlaker - did you end up passing because of the rust? The bed is clearly in need of immediate replacement and a little tricky to tell what else is in need of imminent replacement.

Evaluating the difference between this one in Arizona (let's call it $24k by the time I get it to my door in N.Y.) vs. the one linked below (let's call it $34k by the time it arrives at my door). No way to get the Arizona one into this shape for the $10k difference in price but love the LHD of the one in Arizona.

I've looked at this truck online as well. Traded some emails with the owner as well. He seems pretty firm on pricing. Not a diesel and the rust in the bed and other areas will take $$. It would be a nice rig if someone has the money and time to throw at it. The modes he has do add to the value but as the previous post mentioned it will take all of that to get her up to speed. I have the low mile diesel engine just waiting for her ;)

Agreed RichardsBJ - with the appropriate time and money, it could be a great rig. Just a question of the trade off. Wish I had the time to burn to turn this into a great rig. Not sure I do. Thanks for the feedback.

Think the owner may be unrealistic about the pricing, holding firm based on emotion rather than comparable prices for similar(ish) rigs.

We have later model DIESEL Troop carries we are landing in the US for $10k less than the asking price of the Cottonwood, Arizona rig and probably require less work. At least you know what has been done to one you do yourself and know it is done to your standards.

where? $8000 for a deisle troop carrier in this kind of condition in the US? sign me up now. seriously I am not kidding. If you can find and import a troop carrier for less then $8000 in this kind of condition for me you definitively have my business.

Nathan we list them as often as we have them.

Although not newer this one just sold for $9k on ebay and is off to Montana.

We are packing a container this week to Washington state and one next week to North Carolina out of Brisbane and one the week after that out of Sydney to Washington State. There will be a few rigs in these containers.

I am thinking that this one will go to North Carolina. I have more detailed pics if anyone is interested. It looks rough but the floors are in great shape and the body, although it has some shoddy repairs is also in good shape apart from the grille panel.

i would like to see pics UNDER the floor mats in the typical rusty areas ...

Ask and ye shall receive

Passenger side (left in this case) about the size of a quarter.

We are full disclosure - it it is there and we can see it, it will be photographed - the good, bad and the ugly.

We have shipped in excess of 600 vehicles now and there are very, very few times the customer was disappointed int he vehicle they received. Usually the comment is "It is better than I thought it was going to be.

perfect, thanks
too rough for my tastes but it does show the "full disclosure".

No worries. Condition is reflected by the price - in fact I think it is a little under valued given the condition it is in for under $9k landed on the west coast.

cool... Rough spots are fine and shoddy repairs are fine not a big deal at all. Little to no rust is what i'm after and the biggest deal breaker. I don't know if this is the right time for me though. This is the kind of rig i'm looking for. something that's not perfect but not rusted out but I don't think I could do it financially. I think I will give it another year and we will be talking then. Maybe sooner.

No worries Nathan, we have been here for the last 13 years so we will be around in another 1.

The longer you wait the more these things go up though, well the good ones anyway, the rest just get rustier!
