96 powerstroke.. waterbubble in fuel filter housing wore a hole in alum housing.. which in turn killed IPR. between IPR and housing that's over $500 in parts alone.. a tow, a possible hazmat fee from the city (patiently hoping I don't get something) and the IPR installation post first visit..
Weird weird situation.. Dunno what shop fees are but they ain't very cheap..
I had very similar problems with my 97. I actually had pump problems after all that and had to replace it. That truck got towed around to various dealerships, since no-one could pin point the problem. Has to be something with the fuel rail on those models. Hands down that 97 was still better than my 2003 6.0 powerstroke. Sorry for the hijack..
