I haven't been able to find a stock height replacement Got a link? I'm also concerned that the springs I have on now may be sagged being that the are 14 years old. So even a stock hight replacement would give me some lift that I don't want?
Thanks for the info on tcase gears. What years had the 1.96:1/2.48:1? Would it make for much of a reduction and are the gears a direct swap? I checked out the marks gears set. Very expensive!

Generally, only split cases that came mated to either the H41 or H55 had the 1.96/1 ratio. The H42 factory split cases had the 2.48/1 ratio.

Assuming it's a US cruiser then it has the H42 tranny and the lower split case, so yeah!

By the years it's complicated to determinate .. actually was 1.96:1 in my t-case ( HJ60 with H55F ) thought you maybe have the 2.28:1 since you are a gasser .. and jump to 2.48:1 from a auto BF1A makes no really much diference ..

But it's a bolt on swap and it helps a little ..

I thought that it wasn't a matter of what year, but what transmission. I thought the 1.96/1 was for the H41 and H55 with the lower first gear ratio, and the 2.48/1 was for the H42 with the higher first gear ratio.

That make totaly sense ..

It looks like Kurt lists a .25"-.75" lift coil for the 80 series. You can purchase the rear coils as a pair for $175, and it looks like they might come in different spring rates.

Question: Did you use ballistic fab link brackets? Are you using adjustable height upper coil buckets in the rear?

Thanks. Though I suspect a .25" lift coil would raise it around 1" and the rear is already slightly higher than the front. I think Ill have to keep looking, I dont know.

Yes, Ballistic Fab link brackets for uppers and some custom brackets for the lowers. The coil buckets 'were' adjustable but due to the limited space I welded them in. The only room for adjustment was down, meaning it would lift the vehicle and I don't plan on ever going higher.

maybe a factory OEM replacemet could do the job .. ask Dan for the cost ( I hope aren't out of the world )

A short snow run(blew a power steering hose and had a leaking tranny cooler line. Fun while it lasted. Oh yeah, broke a tail light too, dammit.

That tail light sucks, but what are you gonna do.

I gotta widen my axles.

do you have any pictures of your front diff centre tanks

What exactly would you like to see?

For an update: I have a new vibration, which wasn't there just last week. Drive-shafts haven't been changed so I think I can rule them out. Although the front shaft does have a little bit of play at the splines, normal? The rear is tight.
The vibration is there in 2wd so I don't think thats the cause anyway. I'll pull it tomorrow to see if it makes any difference.
Maybe its in the transfer case. It may need a rebuild. Any iedas?
