All things equal, what will bring a higher value when selling, desmogged (properly done, recurved distributor), or stock?

Pristine stock engine is always the crowd pleaser. A desmogged engine is freaking scary for the buyer - fears of things done wrong.

Depends on the buyer, and depends on the standard of "properly done". As much as I am a fan of properly-done de-smogging for my own trucks, a functioning pure stock truck will always be worth more.

This. Desmog is only worth more to those that:

1. can register in smog free counties or states

2. Understand what a Desmog is.

That limits your customer base.
