Nice. I’ll leave to look at the mechanism to see what’s involved in folding the seat forward.
Does anybody have a picture of this seat fold down? I don’t understand exactly what you guys are talking about. Does the passenger front seat fold all the way back when you modify it or all the way forward so it’s the same level as the backseat fold down I don’t get it.

All the way forward and then build a platform that spans front folded down seat, folded up bench seat and some of the cargo area.
I’m very average height at 5’ 10” and I don’t fit (unless diagonal) in just the cargo area.

Yeah, I still don’t get it. Does the front passenger seat back fold all the way flat towards the windshield like what is it fold all the way backwards I mean if you were going to do this why wouldn’t you just take the passenger seat out in the backseat and build a real bed

Check out our website and click on the Hideaway XL. I used my FJ60 for the photos and you will see the rear passenger seat folded flat.

Since it seems we're talking sleeping arrangements, I'll share what I did. This rack elevated all my gear up 13" so I could sleep on the floor on a 3" thick Ikea mattress. I can sit up comfortably inside, 2 people can fit between the wheel wells (admittedly a bit tight). The fridge pivots up and locks level with the stove, which you can see in a cubby right behind my pup, and then my kitchen boxes sit on another shelf level above that. Water is secured upper left, CO2 is secured lower left. Entire frame is 1" square tube, welded, and bolted to factory bolt holes. This setup was in my 4Runner before the LandCruiser, probably have over 10k off-road miles on this setup and well over 200 nights over the last 15 years.
Jon, Brilliant idea. Man way to think out of the box!

The problem with platform beds is the loss of headroom and claustrophobic feel. Yours is like a platform bed but in reverse and solves the headroom issue. I'll definitely look into making something like this. If you have any pics showing a better view of the structure without all the gear I'd greatly appreciate you sharing.
