Hello to all, I’m selling earlier version of the sleeping platform from AirDownGearUp for the 100 series Landcruiser. Never used it the way it was intended. I used polyurethane wood sealant on the cargo portion of the platform. The fold out part is still unfinished. It’s very light and does not...
At this last minute, I found myself needing to take my high school age son and 3 of his friends on an overnight trip. It wasn't a normal overnight camping trip, but one where they would all participate in in a 24 hour continuous trail run/relay race through the mountains outside of San Diego...
Used this a few times but sleeping in the vehicle is not my vibe (die-hard tent user here).
Built roughly according to this manual which I purchased (included an additional extension on piano hinge for longer sleeping area)...
I have a very simply DIY platform in the back of LC that I built after removing the 3rd row seats. For day to day driving, it doesn't really move around or shift at all, but I'd like a more secure way of tying it down.
I normally keep my golf clubs / push cart under the platform, and the top is...
Any other DIY'ers want to share their ideas/solutions for sleeping platforms?
This is what I came up with, note that the fridge slide/drawer have replaced the 3rd row, and are mounted on a carpeted piece of sealed plywood. This was mounted to the floor using existing holes, scrap sealed plywood...
I wasn’t sure whether to post this in 200, Overland or Camping thread, but thought I’d give it a go here.
I’m looking for (and have searched these forums) ideas for building a set of rear drawers that can be extended forwards in to a sleeping platform.
I want to keep the second row in-situ...
So I want to mount some onboard air in my engine bay. I plan to remove the carb cooling fan and use the 4 unused bolts in the pic. Couple questions:
1. To remove the fan there is one bolt under the mechanism that helps the hood raise up. Any tips on removal...seems like I would be unbolting...

I saw this today in a tech feed I get: Pacific Adventure Works- Built in Santa Cruz, CA - https://pacificadventureworks.com/ . They're making portable sleeping platforms for SUVs. All of the pics on their site feature an FJ60. I'm wondering what the price will be but it looks pretty good. And it...

Hi - it seems with carpooling and kid stuff, this overland build isn't ever going to happen. So as the 3rd row seats stick around, this system has to go.
It was used once (yes, once) on a trip to Durango in 2021 - it's since sat in my garage. All works great.
Not looking to ship...
I know roof racks are a polarizing topic but I want one just to go up and stand on top like i'm on a safari with my GX470.
It would be better for some occasional gear loading than my factory rails too so I'm shopping for the right one.
Any one have any insight into this?
I don't really care...
Hello,
Lurked for a while and finally have something to contribute.
I have always liked the look of the low profile pioneer/backbone combo on the 460 but haven't been thrilled with all the wind noise it created. I researched fairing solutions and read that the factory rhino rack fairing is...
What do you guys think. Approach A or B? I'm using a .5"x3"x40" aluminum bar across the factory seat anchors to support the plywood and tie other stuff into (future drawers, etc.).
With 'A' It would be easy to recess the bolts into the plywood but then I'd have to deal with the recesses filling...
