Ah bummer. Yea that is the plan, just buying myself some time I suppose.Sadly that is the same alternator that I had bought. It only lasted 2 years. Hold onto your old one have it rebuilt!

I'm also having alternator issues I know that it needs replacing anyone know how to get a hold of anyone at vintage tech parts looked at their online parts store but not sure which one to buy left several messages no responses any help would be appreciatedAh bummer. Are you able to find a local, old-school automotive electric shop? Places like that will be able to do a much higher quality rebuilt than picking up some junk reman from the parts store. Try to find a place where the shelves are dusty, they prefer payment in cash, and the guy behind the counter is also the guy who does the work - and he looks like he’s been there for at least 30 years.I have an 84 fj60

That's a great solution if he found a guy to stuff new guts in the old alternator case! That makes it plug & play. Maybe there's a smaller pulley at play here too, who knows.All of you buying new alts should reach out to Georg (@orangefj45) at Valley Hybrids. He now sells a re-spun 115 amp alt. You have to give him yours and he’ll ship you a new one. I can now run my headlights, fog lights, accessories and my air compressor at high idle with very little voltage slip. It’s plug and play. Having my original respun locally and looks like ToyotaMatt has me covered for a one as well so I'll have a spare, but I will keep valley hybrids in my back pocket just for future reference.
