Just saw a 1965 fj45swb on e-bay. just posted on the 11th. This guy says it is all original except for mirrors and bumpers??? Something just looks strange. looks like they added a 70 or 80 bed to it?? I'm not a pro when it comes to fj45's. What do you guys think? Here are a couple pictures.

Obviously not original, but hey, if the guy had only the cab and the frame, he did make something useful out of it. Not my cup-of-tea, but to each his own. I recall CoolCruisers did something like that some years ago, and did manage to sell it to someone.

Looks like a late 70's minitruck bed.
It does look a little funny. I had thought about taking parts off a bed like that to build a more factory looking bed though.
What's with the old FJ40 liftgate in the back of the cab? Also, that's an early-mid-70s minitruck (2WD) bed. Very much a home-brew rig.
That's about as 'far from original' as it gets, but if it were cheap enough, it might be an interesting ride.
I wonder what the wheelbase is - it looks too short for an LWB FJ45. I suspect maybe it's a short wheelbase FJ45 pickup frame.

I do not believe it is a true 45, I think it is a 40. look at the picks of the filler on the pass side of the truck, it is sticking out of the body and the 45's had a cut out for the filler neck. I would like to see the vin # but it's not listed.
Yep, after a second look, the corner windows are too tall, and the rear window as well. Despite some decent body fabrication, how rather sly to pass this bastard child off as original--guess you could say the parts came --all originally-- off something else, rather than the 45 it's supposed to represent!!.
Jeremiah Proffitt of Proffitt's Cruisers built that rig YEARS ago. It is a stretched 40 frame and various other 40 parts. The bed is a Ford Courier bed. No way in hell is this an original 45.
