Thanks bud. I wish I had some coverage over the tires just for water and dirt road driving when I have the top and doors off.

I’ve been collecting exhaust parts.... So I’ll get to building an exhaust tomorrow. Using a mostly Toyota parts and a Nissan cat. Can’t beat free :bounce: nor factory quality. My flow master rusted out and a baffle broke loose in only a couple years... this Toyota muffler should be real quiet and last for many years to come.

Another small update. Exhaust is done and man does it sound great. The Tacoma muffler is dead silent.

I’ve scratched off a ton small stuff on the list. It’s definitely getting smaller. I’ve given up hope on the TBI kit I have. I’m pretty sure something is pinned wrong at the ecm and I just don’t have the time to pin it out with a DMM. So I will be ordering a holley sniper 2300 kit and getting that installed over the next month.

Also converting to an in tank pump for reliable and longevity. When I was a tech at bmw, we did hundreds over these fuel pump recalls due to high resistance in the harness. You would replace, pump and harness. The hoarder in me decided to save a few pumps.

Should work pretty well. Here is the start of it.

I wish I had some real updates for you guys so Instead I’ll just post some pictures to hold you over...

I'm actually running it on a Ford 460. My only major complaint is the wiring harness is an odd length and you may have to cut and solder more wire for a clean install.

Sniper EFI is fully installed and it runs amazing. So much better than the tbi. Not really sure is a v8 is on my radar anymore. At least for now...

If I can find time to build a front drive shaft and an anti wrap bar I’ll be in business for wheeling.

I still really need lower gears. But need to wait a little bit before that happens.

Sort of. I’ll have to take an updated picture, I mounted my throttle cable to it, and my oil filter housing. It just happens to double as a heat shield for the oil filter housing.

I put another 30 or so miles on it today. The stock ignition really leaves a lot to be desired. So we’ll see if maybe I can prioritize setting up the electronic distributor.

UPDATE!! (In the unsolved mysteries voice)

Just got my bud built quarter panels. Ordered them as blanks, trying to clean up the overall appearance of my cruiser. I don’t have a ton of time to go wheeling, so I might as well enjoy it as a driver and the way to big of cut outs have been bothering me.

I’ll have to come up with an opening and a template to transfer it over. I really like this cut out, just need to figure out the spacing and opening size.

Long story short, I got ahold of the owner of that fj40, and mailed me a template of his rear wheel well. I transferred it over, and I found some time to cut out one and get t mounted. I drilled holes in the old body and welded it from the inside out. I’m planning to seam seal the top and side edges.

Please ignore the mess in the garage... it’s a work in progress!

Sweet build man! I have been looking into the Sniper EFI unit. Which engine do you have, 2F? Which Sniper model did you get and how difficult was it to setup/tune?
