OK. Here's a few that I have from the late 70s or early 80s:

This one was taken somewhere on the east coast of Oz around 1980/81. At the time I liked the bull-bar and was thinking of copying it whenever I finally got around to buying my own forty. (Funny how tastes change over time!):

This is a Wellington 4WD Club trip on "the pylon track" Wellington (NZ) in the late 70s. Landrovers dominated the clubs back then and everyone drooled over the cruisers:

And this is my own BJ40 in Rainbow Valley (NZ) probably around 1983 or something like that:

This Picture is from 1987-1988 it was taken on a side trail from dirt Mulholland (Los Angeles, CA). I drove straight into a washed out part of the road! I thought I could make it.

This is my wife and I camping on the west coast of Oz (north of Perth). - Circa 1980

Note the "air deflector" on the bonnet that the PO used to improve fuel economy.

Here we are camping again in OZ circa 1981 - somewhere around the Nullabor Plains as I recall. (South coast of Oz.)

And this is just an interesting mercedes 4x4 that we spotted somewhere in Europe around 1979: (Until seeing this - I thought they produced only L-A-R-G-E unimogs.)

PS. Ignore the dates on the digital photos - That is just when I took digital photos of the "projected images" of the old slides!

April 1977 when my Father bought the Cruiser.

The black things between bumper and fender were OEM and necessary in Germany, even the corners on the bumper. (OEM 55 model corners.)

First Denmark vacation with the Cruiser in 1977.

I took that picture myself when we traveled to Denmark....

The poor fellows had to catch a ferry to Sweden and the LR radiator was leaking.

After the first repainting and some accessories added, some wheeling.

Someday my father bought another 4x4 but we kept the LC for fun, i seperated the rig completely and did a rebuilt that suits my desires.;)

Mouth of the Orongorongo river near Wellington in the 70s:

Don't know where this was taken (without spending significant time looking it up) but I know it was shot in the 70s too:

And this is the wagon I had back in those days. (I'm the handsome dude on the left. :D ) And my LANDROVER is loaded up with trainee nurses from Thames hospital which is where I first met my wife. (Actually they're her friends.) I think that is an old Wellington 4WD club sticker on the rear window but it could be an Auckland Club sticker because I used to be a member of that one too.)

(I've got quite a few old landrover shots from those days but I guess I shouldn't fill this thread up with those :D)

And this type of 70s behaviour would result in receiving a "traffic infringement notice" today:
