Way way cool. The high resolution images of this if possible would make awesome wall hanging

Lemme see what I can dig up. They are amazing shots.

Door straps on my ‘74

Pics taken just after painting it black, we had to redo the hood.... dam bug crawled through a hole where the windshield cushion went... made a set of “railroad tracks” across an otherwise pristine mirror like finish. 🤬

Might not be from the 80s and 70s, but I think it's an honorable mention. Spotted inside a wienerschnitzel.

Picture most likely dates back to the 80s at least. Cruiser is either a 70 or 71 model. Likes like original paint, wheels with hub caps. Bumper, winch and passenger's side mirror are the only things do not look like came from the factory.

My friend........you’ve O.D.’ed 🤣 !

This use to be a very cheap hobby. When it's a hobby you expect no financial gain you can get yourself in trouble pretty easy. Along with the cruisers came thousands of used parts for the day they were going to be NLA. Bought my 68 FJ40 in July of 1974. Came with only the top half of the air. Piece of steel, nut and bolt to sandwich a thin air filter. It hung off the one barrel Carter carburetor. At that time Toyota only sold a complete air cleaner according to the dealer in the small town I lived in wanted $60 dollars for complete unit. There was only one 40 in a wrecking yard and it didn't have the part I needed. Was a pain ever time I went off road the air cleaner popped off the carburetor. Eventually I did locate a air cleaner in a Phoenix wrecking yard the bug to collect parts had already started. I find parts all the time I forgot I had bought. Going for a record for a part I bought about twenty years ago and still haven't opened the box it was mailed in.

Sounds as though we both got bit by that same kinda bug. I cannot throw anything away if l
“think that I might NEED IT.”

The thrill of using an item that l may of tripped over for 20 years really gets the ol’ blood flowing for me, it’s almost euphoric 😆 !

More than once l’ve forced myself to throw stuff away, only to find myself a little while later wandering over to the pile and going through it again, then pullin’ it back out and putting it back in the garage.

“Big Mow” was actually a adhesive sticker that came with a riding mower that was sold by a farm store called “Wheelers” in the midwest back in the day
(‘70’s).

A friend drove a semi for them. He had to make a run out to Missouri to pick a load up and l rode along.

I figured since Moe Howard was dark haired....my ride was dark.... thus l christened my rig... “Big Mow !” It all somewhat made complete sense to my young demented mind at the time.😆
