Hello, somewhat new to the FJ world. Been restoring and upgrading a 71 for the last couple years. I have upgraded many things to a 76 model. I just have a few issues I need help with. Does anyone know of a mechanic in the the KC area? Thanks!

What part of KC are you in? I am in lenexa.
I saw that you Posted this question in the introductions page on the club area, (Tornado alley cruisers).
The bottom line is that there is no really FJ shop in KC. HOWEVER, if you post up what you need, there are several members that do work on other FJ's in their spare time, in their private shop. Rob (kc_chevota) does great work. Techtafab is your welding, fabrication, exhaust, etc man, and so on. We have one of the premier nationwide experts in fj's in tornado alleycruiser, and not to mention that the TLCA main office is in KC.
Guess what I am saying is post up in the clubhouse what you need help with.

If it is basic, you might have to buy a case of beer, and we will come out of the woodwork.
Oh, our club has a relationship with Molle, so join up for $10 bucks and get a great discount, and great parts folks. They also do great service on some of our rigs.

Thanks! Unfortunately i guess the local club is spread all over.
I bought my rig from a guy in Alabama. He had started the project however i wanted to soda blast everything and start over doing it right. Almost everything is powdercoated.

Nah, grew up in Oklahoma and always wanted to however I was an aviation major and Southeastern Oklahoma State had a better program so I went there. Been an OU fan since i was born however. thanks!

Awesome! I will for sure fork up 10 bucks. I live in Roeland Park. I will need the exhaust guy to set me up from the header on. I have the rig half way wired up with a painless however i think i am going to have Hunt electric finish it up.
I am having issues with setting up my clutch. I work for Kenworth and i have talked my service manager to come over and help set it up. I dropped the 3 speed and installed a 76 model 4 speed. I have the clutch fork set up on the driver side. I am hoping we can get this to work. Lastely i am 95% finished running all new brake lines. Under the hood has been tricky sense i know have front disc brakes. I have plenty of beer if i still need help after this weekend. Lenexa is close, are you the one doing the full restro on the Old Blue?

Also, Degnol is extermely experienced and helpful.... and makes the best BBQ this side of the equator.

figured out the clutch problem, i was able to swap over the pivot point< IT GOES INTO GEAR!!!! However while on 4 jack stands it can still go into 1st without the clutch.
I will work on that and my brake lines some more today. I plan to take it around the block for the first time tomorrow. I live at Nall and Johnson so i am just down the street from your work.

Degnol competes at several of the bbq contests and has done very well. The most important thing is that he supplies up with good eats for our meetings and runs.

gotta use 4speed pivot and fork and slave rod. best to move to pass side to avoid heat from headers.
