FJ40 For Sale Ads - Observations & Translations! (2 Viewers)

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate
links, including eBay, Amazon, Skimlinks, and others.

All these apply to series land rovers too.

Don't forget that sellers know what these are worth and won't take anything less than $10000 even though it's barely worth its weight in scrap steel.

Misspellings are another category that can need translation. Sometime you find some very interesting features in these "For Sale" ads. - Saw this one today - "Air condition blows dissent"

The classic is a " Wench " or a " Bumber " and if you're lucky & the stars align you'll see a " Wench Bumber "

Nice thread - pretty funny because they are all spot on.
"The previous owner did . . ."
"Normal rust and wear and tear"
"diamond plating for protection"

I’ve never hit the like button more times in one thread!

I just saw a collage of nightmares from the last 32 years of my life!

The flipside of this is the reality of what I end up pulling off these beauties and putting on the Wall of Shame for posterity.

Glad I saw this posting today! I needed a good chuckle!

a new one !..........

"I have a feeling that 10 years from now I'll regret selling her- so the price needs to be right"

A total rusted out, hacked up pile of crap will be called “restorable”

I like the term "Barn Find". Seems most all FJ40's up for sale have this in the listing.
Does it have to be IN the barn or just parked next to it to qualify as a barn find??
