40-series owners, though other's are most welcome, Baton #1 from the "Travelogue" thread is here in Phoenix.

Any 40-series interest within CSC for a joint trek/trip to move it out west to CA? Non-40's are welcome of course but the original spirit of this effort was to shuttle this thing around via 40's.

Yeah, was thinking roughly the border of CA... or a bit further in or so. It looks like we have someone who's in the San Diego area working on rallying some folks to make the handoff.

Timeframe... not yet set. I'd LOVE to have my 40 back on the road so I can do it properly. Otherwise it'll have to be my FJ75.

Is the baton coming to San Diego? What are the details and timeframe?

We haven't set a date/details yet. In the planning thread @Adarcy recommended a mid-way meetup. I figure it'd be cool to gather as many as we can to meet up with as many of you folks for handoff...

In this thread I'm looking for AZ folks interested in caravan'ing the briefcase on to Socal folks.

I don't own a 40 series, but if there is some activity in the San Diego area I may be interested in joining.

i can see an offroad trek from the Phx area to KOFA,,,, but Anza Borrego for the handoff would make for a GREAT segment.
Actually, some areas of KOFA would work great as well... just off of I-10 yet easy to get quite remote.

I'm thinking we set a date in early October...

@Stepmurr and @brices123, any good weekends in October for you?
The weekends of the 2-3 or 16-17 work best for me. The other weekends are out for sure.

Anza Borrego is becoming a winter favorite in my book👍

Anza is amazing. I'd be awesome to incorporate it.

I'm unfortunately unavailable the weekend of the 16/17. the soonest I could do this is Friday the 29th or Saturday the 30th. The plus is the temperatures will be much better by then. Usually Halloween is our green flag temp wise to start going back out to Anza, well, at least for those of us without air conditioning. Ha!

I ran the original baton=toolbox from Phoenix to Desert Center - IIRC that was 2017

and, as I also stated in the 40s forum: I am definitely up for running a baton again :steer:
