Not sure.... but my experience with Hilux wheels suggests they are not as receptive to different wheels, although that may mean that going the other way you'll be OK.

Just saw the new kids film RIO. Not bad for the kids but for the Dads there is a couple of excellent animated FJ40s and a whole lot of VW transporters.

he he ...thats a good one dean...i'll have to remember that next year :)

wait...who am I kidding...i'll never remember that

it is funny...can you remind me of that on the 3rd next year ? reminding somebody else to remind me of something ...wow ...sounding like the wife now

The kids had to explain that to me yesterday.....light sabres were specifically banned from school. (rolling eyes).

LOL...no problem Johnny...if I remember myself that is

Jim, thank goodness light sabres were not permitted in school...those things can cut your arm off!!! :D

My daughter and I learned that May the 4th was international Star Wars day last year, or something like that, and she was the one who reminded me this year.

That said, I never got into the more recent SW movies, and I am not a comicon kind of guy, (not that there is anything wrong with being one) but I do remember seeing Star Wars at a drive-in, way back when if first came out, and thought it was kind of cool

This was posted by peteinjp in the treasure thread but I figure it would be better answered here.

I know I'm new around here- but based on what I've seen I'm pretty sure that you should buy that fella's cruiser. You know the guy and have first hand experience with him- and obviously respect him very much. I can't see how that truck could mean as much to anyone else because no one else would have the as complete of a picture.

I have a 1965 Dodge 4 door truck with about 55,000 miles on it. It was set up by the original owner to travel down to mexico and camp etc. EVERY available dealer option and then some- Triple tanks/ Viking T-bar seats, intercom to talk to the camper, Cassette recorder for logging trip info, Mark4 AC etc etc. I mean this truck set up. - this guy- whom I never met- Glen bought this truck in 65 and set it up right and I always wish I could have met him even once. I bought the truck not because I love Dodge trucks or even wanted a 4 door of the era. I bought is because it had survived with the mark of the original owner. For me getting in it is like time travel. I really wish I could have met Glen.

Well Pete I really don't know this guy that well. Only meet him twice. First time was last summer when I bought a trailer from him. I do know what you mean about the history thought. If I didn't have way too many cruiser already I might buy it. I've had my 68 since 1974. By that time it was already trashed on the inside. The back had a trailer hitch that looked like they were moving box cars around. Tied into the brake syetem bor trailer brakes. I hate to think about the single circuit system sharing brake fluid with a trailer. Owner's manual/jack/tool kit long gone. this one has all the little touchs added to make it his personal hunting vehicle. Ramsey winch, second gas tank, piece of heavy steel hidden behind the front bumper to beef it up but still keep the stock look and a piece of heavy angle iron replacing the bumperettes. The sad part is the guy now has a poor memory and can't remember some things that were done. Some of the lit I got from him shows Toyota offering a carpet kit for the FJ40. So it has carpeting but don't know if it what Toyota offered. Having been a hunter in AZ since the early seventies I know how useful these things are. But I've aready set my 68 the way I want it plus I have a dune beige 76 that has a small fraction of the mileage on this 70 and it's low. The only thing I might do to this one is upgrade the brakes to a disc brake up front using a booster adapeter that din't require the rib cut on the firewall and a four speed. The hope is to find him a buyer who will realize what this cruiser is and not covert it to a rock crawler. He had it listed on CL last year for a price it might have sold for six years ago on Ebay. Just trying to find a buyer who will pay a fair price for bought buyer and seller in todays market. Having been around cruiser since the mid seventies I'm hoping someone will value my opinion when I say how rare a find this one is. Just looking at the items I got off his first cruiser he sold to buy this one new you can tell how well he takes care of his things.

That is what I liked about this Dodge. The owner took great care of it and I bought it to save it more than anything. The owners son did not want to sell it due to the fond memories he has- but I convinced him that I'd take care of it as well as I could and keep it up like his Father would have wanted. It was just sitting in the grass and it was going to rot away- the guy knew that. If was not for sale when I found it. I found the guy again 2 years later and made an offer- he took it.

I'm sure you'll find a good owner for this one. Hopefully someone that can see the sum of the parts so to speak. If I could just stash this one away until the kids are out of the house.......... For now 4 seats and some room for luggage are mandatory- hence the bj44.

Here is a real and original "expedition" vehicle- my Dodge.
