I wanted to add this, these organizer/tackle boxes work excellently to organize the junk in the console. Looks like you can fit 3 under the acorn nuts for the seat belt straps.

Edit: 4 fits just fine, though you have to angle the 3rd one around the acorn nuts on the way out. Inward seems to just work out.

Tackle boxes are the coolest, the exact same thing but branded off-road tool box cost 4x. Walmart isle 49 has a “tool box” for $9 bucks

Any of the kobalt small set in the same case will fit perfectly, I went back and forth, have both I there atm, need to cull to just one.

For anyone that has done this with stock 60 seats which size Tuffy did you use…6.5 inch or 8 inch? My seats are at the upholstery shop & I can’t measure right now.

I’ve got the 6.5 inch in my 40, I’m pretty sure the 8 inch will fit my 60 but it looks like it will be close.

Has anyone used the 8 inch wide Tuffy with stock 60 seats?

W/O having my seats here right now I wanted to be sure about the 8 inch one before I ordered. Now I can have the Tuffy here & installed by the time my seats get back to me.

While we're on a Tuffy thread revival, is there any difference in arm rest dimensions between the plain top Tuffy and the radio compartment Tuffy?
Trying to decide if I want the radio compartment Tuffy or not. Not sure I would actually mount a radio in there, is it worth having that separate space for other stuff? Does it short change the space of the main compartment?

@NWxDrew is that gray the actual Tuffy color or did you have it painted/coated? It looks good in your gray interior, Tuffy's website is a little unclear on colors.
I'd consider the black, but that gray looks solid in there.

@Skniper my arm rest pad is 8”x9”. I can’t confirm there’s a difference between the two, but I do believe the non radio box has a longer pad.

This is factory Tuffy grey. I bought this box a few years ago and I think Tuffy discontinued every color but black. I’ve been looking for another grey cup holder for the back seat but it has been difficult.

@Skniper here is what I think I know regarding the differences between the one that has room for a radio & one that does not. Having the radio compartment definitely short changes you on usable storage space. And one w/o the radio compartment will have a longer elbow pad on top.

I’m fairly sure the two different Tuffy boxes have the same outside dimensions. The one w/o the radio compartment lid is longer & you have more covered ‘storage’ space inside even tho the outside dimensions are the same.

Plan on ordering the Tuffy today. May order from Amazon but I may instead order directly from Tuffy. If I learn anything different than what I have posted I will update this post.

@John McVicker you are 100% correct. I definitely have less storage. If you have a moment to wait on purchasing the box, Tuffy regularly has sales around major holidays.

Was just back looking on the Tuffy site, if you scroll down to "Detailed Specs" they show a part # for the gray, that's why I was unsure of the options. Might be worth a call to them. Sucks if they disco'd the other color options.

@John McVicker Think I'm leaning toward the non-radio compartment version. According to the website all the outer dimensions are the same, except for maybe the arm pad itself, but they don't state that.

@John McVicker @NWxDrew Well, just called Tuffy, the part # for Gray is just for the arm pad, not the box. Little confusing the way it's listed. Was considering Black anyway, oh well.

The CS girl was unaware they were ever offered in other colors, which didn't help her knowledge credibility. Lol.

Ok, just placed my order for the 8 inch Universal Series (no radio slot) & decided to get all black after all.

Went thru Tuffy Corp. just to be certain it included the cup holder & the small tray for the interior. They give a 15% discount for military, so even after paying for their shipping it ended up cheaper than Amazon.

My Tuffy just showed up. Man this thing is a chunk, very solid. Just doing some practice fitting, the arm rest seems to work well with the manual shifter.
I think a 7" wide (they don't make 7") would be the sweetspot, its a little tight on the seats and emergency brake, but it works.

@NWxDrew I can see how the lid strut would be really nice to have, let us know what you think.

You inspired me to get that job done!

This morning I installed the gas strut. I am still figuring out the banana system, but this could not have been more than a single banana.

The kit and install is simple and straightforward. My Tuffy already hat little indents where the holes need to be drilled.

The holes they recommend to drill are too large for the hardware they included, so I sized down around 1/8” for a better fit. }


I had to alter the little tray to make it fit.

I do recommend the addition of the gas strut. The lid won’t slam shut on kid fingers or when it’s open and you brake hard.
