FJ-60 led tail lights

The backup bulb is separate from the LED kit from Digi-Tails. Those came from ACC in Atlanta. There are some available from superbrightLEDs.com and other vendors here on MUD.

Here is a short video of the Digi-Tails LED tail lights on my 62. One is with the lens and the other has been removed. I also will get one more vid tonight when dark to show you the brightness.

You can check it out here:

X2 and what they said ( if so ) about water or humidity, how the LED deal with it .. ?

I am not sure how these would be any different than stock incandescent bulbs when it comes to be ing submerged. Electricity and water and not friends. That said, the humidity concern is best suited for the guys over at Digi-Tails. They are a good set of guys and easy to get answers from, I have dealt with them both by calling or via email.

Got my lights today. Will post night shots later on..

Ok..
The installations on these if straight forward...
However the double sided tape on the "L" shape brackets is crappy at best..
I swap it for some 3M stuff instead..
The directions on how to place the brackets, I did not like.
Instead I placed one bracket first then placed the light and marked where the second bracket should go..Easy peasy...
These lights will need some sort of resistor as my flasher blinked so fast that I could feel my heart rate go up.. (gotta contact Digi-tails and see).
Are these brighter.. ?
Hell yah..., but more so the whole square stop signal/turn signal lights up with cool LED's...
One could have a grandmal seizure if you stare at them long enough.....

I was afraid these might look like cheese wannabes LED's that did not belong on an old rig, but Im glad to say they look the part..

Here are some pics...

Blinkers don't operate as they used to.
They blink rather fast.
However, when I use the hazard lights they blink normally...
The manufacturer ask me for a short vid..which I will provide later today....

This is exactly what I feared. They claimed them to be a "bolt in" option. But they are not. Using an LED in place of a blinker bulb is the same effect as having a normal bulb burnt out. You have to install a resistor. Like this one here

I like the product, but if they don't have a resistor built in then it is not a plug and play swap.

I just got off the phone with them because they shipped my order to the wrong place...I mentioned this forum and Manuchao having the fast blinker issue and they said they think they might have to mail folks a relay to plug in? It's not confirmed just first wind

A simple blinker relay replacement is all that is needed to fix the blinkers. If they have a solid state one that has the correct pin pattern..

You right on..
They will mail a no load electronic flasher... Whatever that is.. We shall see..

Although, a nuisance..with the hyper flashing, I really dig these LED's.
Not having anything else near close to these.. I dig....
Will update later on..

I got the relay with the kit- its a 2 prong relay. My FJ62 needs a three prong relay. So, the one they sent me doesn't work for my rig. This may be different for the FJ60 versus the FJ62's. Dunno. Maybe someone here knows better.

I'll be contacting the Digit-tails guys today and ask what options are available. I'll post as soon as I know more.

Ok, so I got this from Digi-tails, but did not like it and did not wanted to add any of it to my rig.

I instead turned to MUD and found this.
flasher.jpg

here

Easy peasy..
It worked..!!
My rear signals flash like they supposed to, and nothing was added to the equation.
Now (by removing that resistor) my rig is 0.1g lighter...:flipoff2:

Well done. I have a good memory for what's on this forum, and that one completely escaped me. Thank you.

Any threads detailing how to wire these resistors up by chance? My search got nuthin.
