In your first series of photos, the fourth one shows an ID tag attached to the bulkhead, engine bay side, just above blower motor. There should be information on that tag also.

not sure exactly how far out my speedo/odo are, but according to the odo, a full tank of fuel gets me about 225 kilometers (130 miles). I figure the tank is about 55L (not sure how many gallons???). Is this typical or worse than normal?

well i don't know for sure but i'll say typical. i figure a tank will get me about 140 miles if i'm driving very conservatively. i tried to work out the numbers and i figured about 10 mpg, not sure i did it right though

I get about 17 miles to the gallon, and usually fill up every 200 miles to be safe, but could definitely go 300 if I'm driving conservatively and not pulling a trailer.

But the later 1970's vehicles with all the antismog stuff did not, on average, get as good of gas milage as the earlier rigs. It would make sense, however, if you desmogged and went to a "NonUSA" (earlier 2 Barrel) carb/dizzy combo, you should be able to get that kind of gas milage.

By the way, those of you who don't think in terms of miles, but speak English, what is your term for "Gas MILage?"

Actually, it took a bit of futzing to get to this point. I believe that going to the NonUSA carb/dizzy combo gave me the best milage boost, but maybe just having stuff that wasn't dirty or worn out was what actually did it. I also think rejetting gave me a bit. Certainly timing and idle settings by vacuum did a little. Every tweek added 1/2 to 1 MPG or so.

Fuel Economy. up here, it's measured in litres per hundred kilometers.
