Was able to get the engine painted and some of the parts back on. Still got a lot of work to do. My water pump shipped from rock auto so that install will be soon.

What does everyone think about the black and silver?

I have always like this color combo.

I like it... just looks clean to me. Doing a great job man. I am thinking that in the next year or two I will probably pull my engine and do a rebuild over the summer months (winter is when I need it most). What did you end up using to strip and then paint the different engine components?

Thanks! I have been working on it for a while now.

I have a Parts Cleaner that I am using. I used Purple Power in the parts cleaner and a lot of elbow grease!! :) When I am done with the hard to remove grease and buildup I then use Dawn and water and another scrub brush to remove the rest of the oil grease. Is working out really well.

I just ordered the two oil cooler pipes, coolant pipe for the Heatercore and the lower Radiator pipe from Cruiserparts.net.

I am waiting for my water pump to get here.
Beck Arnley from rockauto.com :) :bounce: :clap::beer:

Tonight I am going to work on getting the Motor Mount brackets and other stuff bolted back to the engine.

Nice, when/if I do rebuild then I will probably end up purchasing a parts cleaner however this summer I plan to pull the valve cover and run the valves and figure I would do some clean-up and paint when I do that, will end up rebuilding the Carb and pulling the manifold to have it machined (if needed) and repaint that as well. Few fun things while I can ride my bike to work...

So yea, I got my water pump from RockAuto.com, even though it was the Wrong Pump. The water pump did not even fit a Toyota at all. The box it was in Said Beck Arnley and made in Japan. When I open the box the rest of the way, because it was half open when I got it. The Water pump had made in Germany all over it and was 3 times the size of my Landcruiser pump...lol... Called RockAuto and they are sending me a new one.... Never fails!!!!!!

LOL of course..Hopefully they are overnighting it to you are 2nd day so that you can get this moving. Was your old pump leaking/bad or are you just replacing it for posterity's sake?

When I pulled the water pump off I could feel some play in the shaft, I figured I am doing all this work, I would just replace the pump. I plan on driving this thing a lot so I want to just replace. When I talked to Rock auto they made a good point that if they over night i would not be delovered until monday they are going to ship from tenn so it should be here monday/tuesday any ways.
Its all good.

So now I worked on more on the engine, I was able to start cleaning the intake and other components. I really think it turned out nice. Let me know what you think.

Here are some more pics of the engine!

Still working on it, I got some other little things to do.
Does any one know what the EGR block off kits from Man a fre entails to install on the intake. Do I have to cut/drill anything.

There is a line that comes out of the PCV to the EGR plate and that is what one of their played replaces. The other one goes on the j-pipe where it meets the exhaust manifold.

OK cool thanks, I have been waiting to bolt on the intake and exhaust because i did not know if there was something special I had to do with the intake/exhaust manifold.

JimC also sells a plate for just the j-pipe block off if you are keeping your PCV. You will need I get a new gasket for it from Toyota so look in Jim's vendor post for his desmog components and you will see I posted it. Runs about $17 from the dealership.
