I know you have been working on it so POST PICS.

Later,

...that's an overstatement there sir! (The working part)

...about the pictures, guess we have to be patient, he's a lil' slow! He! he!

We got the other side skinned in around the rear wheel well and then flexed her up and we are going to have take out about another 1/2 inch on the rears. We took another two inches out of the top of whats left of the front fenders. We're going to make some tube and sheet metal fenders for the front that match up with the body lines like the rears. Devin is trying to find some ways to make it even lower!!! I sold the grey 4Runner that I bought to take to Colorado so I have to pull the locker out of the rear tomorrow so we won't get much done on it tomorrow. We also have to put a new set of trailer jacks on the Crawler Hauler for the trip to Arkansas.

Definitly will not be ready for Clayton. Kowboy, the bump stops are just aluminium round stock threaded onto the mounts and some Dodge bump stops threaded onto them.

Well we got to the point where we were going to order drive shafts and we flexed it out to measure for them and found that the slip was going to be almost 3/4 to 7/8 of an inch. So much for long travel shafts!!!! We did find that the angle of the drive shaft was going to be too great because of all of theflex that this thing has. We tossed around several ideas and came up with a plan. We jacked it up, leveled out the frame, cut the entire drive train loose and moved it all back several inches. We then changed where the shocks mounted up front and basically moved the travel to another plane in relation to the chasis.

Since we moved the engine back the distributor would not come out of the engine. Devin cut out part of the old cowl and fabbed a new piece that will allow the dizzy to come out and still let the wipers work, be removed if needed and still let the cowl drain properly. Now we can start putting the new floor in. Hopefully we'll have some good progress shots soon.

Nothing new. I got busy looking for Bambi's dad, Devin has been working alot and I've been taking Bailey bear hunting!

One thing you gotta understand about this hear deal is that Devin is treating me VERY RIGHT!!!!!! I consider Devin to be just about the best friend that I have and appreciate the time that he does get to devote to my project. We work on it it when we can and he still has to make $$$$ on the other jobs he does. I'm happy and he's happy. Guess that's what counts.

Well we ran into another problem with the tires clearing the links. When we set the links up with the frame on the jig, we had the stock axles and u joints in the front end and the tires cleared the links with no problem. When we put the chromo shafts and Longfield u joints in, we got a lot more turning angle and the tires ended up hitting the links. Had to fix them!

So here are some pics of our recent progress:

Out comes the torch to cut all the lower link tabs off:

Then the buckets from the frame:

Then on with the new stuff:

These things are BEEFY and stout. Oughta stand up good. Was a lot of work to get more clearance for the tires but we'll get a tighter turning radius.

Had some time today so we burned in the motor, tranny and tcase mounts and gusseted all of them out. We were going to try to work on the tcase parking brake but decided to start chopping up the headers and making new ones out of all the little pieces!!! Got the passenger side(the hard side) done. May make some more progress later this week.
