Well s***. Waited and waited for the FedEx guy to show and nothing. Then decided to check the tracking and it said it has been delivered. Sure enough it was on the front porch...... with a nice dent in the box.

Pulled the rad and looks ok but really praying it is as the hot was hard enough to snap the foam inside but luckily it was in a void.

Question, what are these two threaded poets for on the bottom??

transmission cooler??
That’s what I was thinking but looked like it opened up to the lower tank. No plugs in the box to plug them.

Oh no. Drain plugs?

Yeah the petcock is there. There are just open, threaded ports like it was for a tranny cooler. I know that the 2708 can be used for the 62 so wondering if maybe they just forgot the plugs in this one or I just didnt see them in the styrofoam or something.

By the time I have been getting home it has been pitch black out so havent had a minute to crawl under the truck and look to see if there are lines I am just not thinking about that go to it.

Ok did some reading on the forums specifically looking for the CSF2708 and found that those most definitely are for the integrated tranny cooler. See @Zack1978 comment here on this thread... FJ62 CSF Radiator Install - Real Time Help Please... I will keep digging to see if I can find out what the thread pitch is so I can grab some brass plugs.
Calling @Output Shaft @OSS looks like your old thread went bye-bye with your name change, any chance you still have that info for the AT Cooler to PS Heat Exchanger swap. Just looking for the bung size on the CSF 2708.

Ha good luck on OSS... I tried asking him the same and he told me to stay w/ the plastic.
@CaptClose did tho swap his for a metal/brass one.
And yeah those bottom ports don’t need to be closed. He and I have the same and there’s no need to close them up, they don’t plumb into the primary rad chambers. They are meant for a 62... no need to get all nerved up.

Ok good to know. May just do it, just because.

I did the same thing. I’m just a belt and suspenders kinda person. But yeah... there’s no real need to plug them.

Felicity is right though, I did buy a brass plug to replace the chinsy plastic one that came with the radiator.

Yup that was one of the first things that I looked at doing. When I rebuilt the head I remember how much of a PITA draining the system in the first place was so I figured that I would do something that allowed me to AT LEAST attach a small hose to the petcock and drain it into a bucket(s). Again, that over planning analyst, anal retentive side of me!!!

GROMMET

Screws and grommets are for the headlight doors, caps are the black surrounds for the wiper arms on the cowl, rad cap is NLA and the grommet for the hood prop! CRUD!

Try Georg or Kurt. I don’t trust tpd at all.

Found one for cheap on ebay so grabbed that this morning. Should be here later this week. Really hoping that the weather warms up as it has been down in the teens at night and not above the mid 30s during the day. Supposedly it will be a bit warmer this weekend, getting into the 50s, but I am not holding my breath on that one. Sure it probably isn't great running the truck with a slight leak in the rad.

Tonight I will start spraying some penetrate on the bolts around the rad to hopefully ensure that I don't strip or snap anything.
