I am way to lazy to do that after every dent and ding!

That looks fantastic!

Thanks for the excellent idea's, looks great !

Excellent repair job there VCCruzr

Thanks guys! Now it's time to fab some quarter panel protection.

Did you jut leave all the tape on in between coats? I was reading the instructions and it says to take the tape off pretty soon after spraying.

I ran my masking just a little above the line I wanted and then placed a separate finish piece of tape that was pulled right after spraying.

I was going to pay someone to do all this. But after seeing first hand how you did it, I've decided to do it myself.

Here are some other shots of his work space and an action shot!

Ok I am dumb and not quite grasping this concept. Could you explain it a little more?

I believe he laid 2 layers of masking, after spraying the first coat he removed the first layer of masking.... under that layer of masking was a second and final layer of masking just about an 1/8 above the first layer.... then he applied the second coat and removed the second and final layer of masking leaving only the paint. In his picture you can see as he's removing the first layer of masking there is a thin exposed line of paint... that is where the second layer masking is. :)

Gotchya! That is what I thought. Any issue spraying over the liner that was sprayed before when you did the repair? I'm assuming you just make sure the liner is clean and spray away.

I used a pressure washer to make sure I got all the dirt out of the nooks & crannies and no issues so far.

Wish I had known about this a little bit sooner. I had just finished my Al's liner job when I saw this hint. Oh well. The hardest part for me was taping the damn wheel wells! I could not get the tape to stick to save my life. I'll post pics later today.

Looking forward to seeing some more pictures of other trucks with this as well.

Did you use the Al's hopper as well? Was it easy to set up and use? Plan to do my brother HJ60 and my 80 in the springs from the looks of it. Really nice job on this the first and 2nd time around.

I used the sray gun from Harbor Freight with the hopper mentioned above. As far as I can tell it is the same gun as the Al's. My liner came out more textured. I had the smallest nozzle and the air pressure set at 60 psi. I should have screwed the adjusting nut in further as I would have preferred a finer texture. I'd recommend just barely squeezing the trigger as you spray. Less is more. The harder you spray, the more "globby" the bedliner seems to be. I really like it though. In the spring I will probably redo it and follow the lines VCCruzer did.
