I have 4 hrs into it....
- mist entire outside with cleaner.
- wash with dawn and hot water with soft brush
- take tooth brush and parts washer brush (strait bristles) with cleaner and spray and scrub every edge from top to bottom.
- rinse
- check it over.
- fold mirrors and clean all side open and close and inside housing.
- lock doors, pull handles and clean inside there (dirty)
- could care less about bumpers.
- rear door glass edges
- check again.
- get acid out for the stubborn areas with soft brush as acid will work well when moved around.
- rise
- clay magic everything but the roof.
- rinse
- wash with very soapy water that has wax in it.
- wipe down all jambs
- take pics.

Looks great. When you say 'acid' what product are you referring to specifically? I just mine back from the shop and I want to tidy up some light scratches by the door handles.

That you want to use a 3M polish and good clean diaper.
the acid i use is called Savage acid and it is for chrome wheels and purchased from detail manufacture/distributor , I dilute 4:1 and you have to be on top of it, it will stain aluminum, but is a great secret tool if you have some balls and the hose running under your feet as you have to really dilute it to be non corrosive
It works great for getting all the water spots off the shower glass. I just close the bathroom door, turn the fan on, spray the shower down.......wait 10 minutes.
Strip down and put your favorite chemical mask and flip flops on, turn the shower on and hop in and start rinsing the walls off......
Its kinda funny when your woman walks in......

Then I make a run to Starbucks and grab a beverage and her a water. Then down to the river to see whats going on as we have record fisherman on the water this year. I am idling down the heavy river rock finger that runs about 100 yards out in the river shielding the boat ramp. At the end of the turn I am running the waters edge and watching the ducks was to much for Hurley as she did the Peter Pan out the window and hit the water and would not heal. She was out there swimming after these ducks for 5, then 10 and now we are at 20 minutes and she is getting farther and father out. I am stripping down and just about to go in and a guy rolls up that I did not see as I have tunnel vision on my dog and say get it so we can go get your friend. I jump at the chance as I am really worried as she has had 3 knee surgeries and I stressing she is going to cramp....... Crazy bitch wanted no part of being picked up, she just put it into over drive and was on auto pilot after this mallard. Good lord, it took three passes to grab her. Once I tossed her in the boat all she wanted to do was find out where the drake went.

Seat belt cleaning

How much time does it take to take out all of the seat belts, clean, scrub, clean some more, rinse and then dry and put it all back together? Not that I have dirty seat belts or anything, but say I have a friend....
I told my wife this was one thing that I would do very soon and am wondering about how long to expect. Also, did you end up buying clips for the plastic that would need to be removed for this area? I remember, from reading your write up a while back, that you did buy clips, but was unsure if they were used in other areas or just everywhere. Please help.

I remember, from reading your write up a while back, that you did buy clips, but was unsure if they were used in other areas or just everywhere. Please help.

Inspired by this thread I recently cleaned the seatbelts on the truck using a bucket with warm water and laundry soap. Not as thorough as Atlas1X but they are clean where it counts the most with substantially less effort.
- One gallon bucket with warm water (not too hot since you'll be sticking your hands in it) and laundry soap.
- Get the bucket as close to the lower mount as possible and stick as much of belt in as you can including the clip.
- Agitate by hand until you think it's clean.
- Hold the bucket high near the top mount and again feed as much belt as you can.
- Agitate and by hand until clean.
- Rinse in clean water and blot dry with a towel
- Extend the belt all the way out to dry.
Make sure you clean inside the upper shoulder slide (a strip of velcro works good) too since gunk left here will end up back on the belt.
You should be able to do this in less than 10 minutes a belt with no clips,panels or bolts removed.

^ WOW. Good thought. Did you keep the belts tethered, fully unwound to allow them to completely dry? Also, mine are not retracting as fast as they did when they were new, did you have the same issue and if you did, how did you lubricate / clean the mechanism to fix this?

The whole process from start to finish was two weeks, I tore it all out and just started cleaning. And I did replace every trim panel clip in the truck.
So no help on what each item took as I was all over the board when doing it.

Thanks Shane. I have been waiting for good, warm weather to get in there and start really cleaning. The seat belts are in REAL need, but then again, so is the leather... oh, and the plastic parts, and... LOL! 4 kids and 2 adults will do that!

Update on lights.
Still the same brightness, LOVE them. I did tilt them down a touch to keep the glare from oncoming traffic. I get flashed maybe once a month.
For some reason my DRL no longer work after letting a friend drive it, am I missing something?
One who knows all, options for rear drawers for the 100?
