It will help get the larger particles out. I know there will still be a film where the dirt sat. I have no clue on how to open these suckers either. It's not a lot if dirt either, just sits on the bottom and looks a mess

Your idea is like shaking and sloshing your fish bowl and thinking it will be clean when the water settles.

There are threads on how to take them apart, I did one before reading a thread on how to do it. Not the best route.

Where to get braided brake lines?

Goodridge G-stop Brake Lines - includes 6 lines to replace all the rubber hoses not just the four at the wheels.

How about SS lines that are longer then stock for more travel without fear of tearing a line?

That's surprising, they shipped mine out very quick and I had them in a couple days.

Not sure on install, maybe this weekend. I wanted to take the headlights out and polish the glass at the same time.

UPS just dropped my HID's in. I was very impressed with the quality of the ballasts. I was looking for the color K to double check and I saw 55W on the ballasts  . Looks like they will be a little bright. I ordered the 35W kit and I guess they sent me the 55W kit.

I might as well just drive with my high beams on  . I'll put them in and do a few laps around town and see how many flash me, as well as have somebody drive me past it with the lights on to test the glare. Now I'm hoping they sent me the 5K kit and not some 12K hyper purple spurkle (it rhymed with purple and sounded funny...) color. I'm sure Bull Cruiser will chime in with his experience with his hand made HID bulbs with ballasts from his friends Buggati Veyron and custom brackets from Germany telling me he won 56 awards for best color, 12 awards for cool headlights.

And you bring the funny!

I ordered the 55w on purpose! doh

Maybe they saw your order and was like "hey this other LC 100 guy ordered 55w so he probably wants them too!" :D

are you not afraid of the star-up AMPS on the ballasts. It's startup is a whopping 6.2A's where factory (halogen) is 4.3A, I don't want to fry anything! Did you get the relay kit?

I tried using the factory harness to power the ballasts. Not enough power to even try to ignite them. Being 55W it was hopeless. I did not blow any fuses. I was bummed. I call pman and went to his place to see if his skills would help. It did, we built a relay kit and it now pulls directly from the battery. I used to always drive with the fogs on, now I find the fogs unnessecary! The cut off is surpisingly clean. I was expecting it to be a mess...but it's nice.

I love my headlights.

So 55W wasn't a bad idea after all huh?

Since it's night time, take any pics?

what's the color like. Can you tell a difference behind the wheel? An regrets or second thoughts? What spec relay did you use?

Give me 20 mins for pics. I gotta find cam and get out there. Its a 5K 55W APEXCONE HID KIT. No regrets, it's pure white behind the wheel and very very very nice to have now. Wish I did this sooner.

They take about 30 seconds to fully crank, while im out there I will take pictures of the relay package so you can see the specs (since it's dark I'll take a picture of the new harness tomorrow)

As iron is eaten by rust, so are the envious consumed by envy.

Did you get get 55w for the lows only.... or did you do highs, lows and fogs? I've had 35w HID's for a little more then 7 years. I've went from 4500k-5k-8k.... i tried the 55w ballasts on my lows but ran into the same problem as you. Then figured it out and did the same thing Pman did, for you, with an external relay but I noticed the 55w would emit a tiny flicker (about 5-6 tiny flickers a minute), it was enough to bother me to switch back to my 35w ballasts. Didn't really see the huge difference in lighting either way, the 55w were a tad brighter.

instead of hi jacking Shane's thread, I'm creating a hid install thread. please direct new comments to it...

Thanks!

start the thread now pls! I'm considering HID's! I'll need them cos my headlights now have a smoke finish

Dang that sucks to hear black pearl is no longer available. $10 says Shane will now go on a national manhunt for a Toyota dealer with old stock emblems! :D

My vote, paint them black. That's what I will be doing.
