This was my grandfathers has been a life saver many times. It's so old there isn't even a patten number on it. I've had a 4' snipe on it and it holds out.

Similar in uses… anyone ever have one of these?
Stanley or Crescent are likely the original… Mastercraft makes one, and even Amazon Basics have one. If they’re well made they potentially could be good. Quality would make the difference between a paperweight and something useful.

I recently picked up a new GRAY Tools adjustable wrench at a thrift store for $2.99. I looked it up…

I have to say it’s worth way more than cheap wrenches… opens up to an inch and doesn’t loosen off.

Good to know. Thanks

I have the 10" version in my shop. Friend was helping me tidy up a while back after a project, he asked where it lived...

Honestly it's not out of my hand long enough to ever get put away.

Expensive, but worth every penny.

Oddly enough the sizes don't vary a ton in price. The little one that lives in my pants pocket 99% of the time isn't much cheaper that the 10.

There is a reason that strap-on carries them.

😉

5” or 6” Knipex for your smaller size?

Or the size to make Trump feel better about himself…

If you were only buying one, which would you buy first?

Looks like amazon have them for about $75… or Mastercraft $50 for their version, but I’m thinking buy quality, buy once.

I have the 5" for my pocket carry.

There's times I wish I'd got the 6", they open just that smidge wider, I'm not sure if it'd be as comfortable in the jeans pocket, but they're so close maybe you wouldn't notice the difference?.

You might want to hold them in your hand first to decide...

5” would likely feel like this in my hands…

These days I’m wearing 14 or 15 shoes (US sizing now)… and XL gloves tend to fit like one size fits all for many people (and they don’t fit me).

There’s a downside to being 6’4”+

I’ve been carrying a 6” Gray crescent wrench in my jeans pocket… sounds like 6” would be the way to go. I suspect 10” wouldn’t fit into many of the awkward spots they’d be most helpful for.

6” Gray…

Yeah I'd probably do the 6.

Thinking about it, I ordered the 5 online, was kinda surprised how small it is.

That said, it probably works better for the fiddly s*** I deal with at work. It's saved me hundreds of trips back to my toolbox.

Well, I took the plunge…

I’m glad I went with 6 vs 5. It feels like a bit of a trade off to make it more convenient to carry. In my hand I’m considering the 7.25”… but that would begin to get awkward in my jeans pocket.

Right after I buy for $75…
KMS Tools today:

I was ordering a bunch of shyte online a while ago, got to the "another 5 dollars to qualify for free shipping point" so I added one of these.

I was expecting a piece of crap, but it's actually pretty good. Grabs on solidly and releases when you want it to.
Unlike my other conventional ones which all seem to either not grab, or get stuck on.

Some particular brand or just some random one?
One of those Alibaba special kinda brand names haha

It was cheap enough for a test run to see how they work. Only downside is they take up a bit of space, but I always seem to have more grease guns than I want, so the others can stay with conventional ends.

Picked up this one today. Mac tools cutoff tool... sounds way more powerful than my die grinder.
The seller said he bought it, tried it once but found his compressor was too small to run it. So it has sat in its original box on the shelf. He has since bought an electric one so he decided to sell this one. based on what he said, the included MAC cutoff discs probably were included when he bought it new. It's still in new condition so I felt it was well worth the $40 I offered him.

I can say for certain it'll be much safer than a cutoff disc on a die grinder with no guard. I could have used it when I was removing my exhaust manifolds, but instead used the hot wrench. I was a little apprehensive about just using a die grinder and a cutoff disk very close to my fingers. No guard and extra thin discs spinning at 20k rpm spells some fowl language and a trip to the ER in so many possible outcomes... none of them good.

Seeing as one always seems to need a little window squeegee in a cruiser, here's a way to make a decent one in about 5 minutes.

Piece of whatever pipe, plastic works too, most seem to spring closed when split down the side.
Insert bit of rubber, squeegee away.

Simple, and doesn't involve buying a plastic piece of s*** from crappy tire.

Are you kidding... why on earth would you need a squeegee in a Landcruiser... especially in a 40 series? 🤷‍♂️

All kidding aside, I've had the same one in my 40 for almost 33 years... for wet days, rainy days, snowy days, top off days, and top on days. Pretty much any day that ends in ay... or 'eh' as it's said here in Canada.

Really? I kept one for the inside of the windshield of my 40 for the 4 months of winter driving around with tarp over the
seats. It got continual use. Bikini top and a heater. We were tougher back then.
Inside of the front windshield was always covered in more spray than the outside, which of course are equipped with
wipers.

I'm reasonably sure he was being facetious. 🤣

I always liked it back when gas stations had the guy who'd clean your windows..."do the inside too"

Possibly, I have some impairments that should preclude me participating in forums. LOL
