A bit too soon to call it a favourite but so far its shaping up to be,
Picked up an old Swan "made in Port Moody" compressor on marketplace for 100$. Single cylinder 65mm bore. Still had the operating manual attached.
I believe it was a dry pipe sprinkler compressor with a maximum cut off of 60PSI, so I replaced the pressure switch to a 125PSI rated one, oil change, cut an extension cord and wired it up... fired up right away.
10000X quieter than my crappytire mastercraft oil free comp, and should work much better for my needs.
I still am looking for a 20-30gallon air tank but in the meantime it works much better plumbed into the 3gal tank from my mastercraft than the mastercraft itself ever did.

Nice! Yup, with air compressors and pressure washer pumps, buy only oil lubricated! Lube free is not a good thing! ( .......... )

Well it's not my favourite yet, but it'll probably have its moments.

Slightly larger live center.

It's kinda huge and heavy as hell. Took it apart and repacked the bearings and gave it a clean-up.

Even has the right taper for my 120 yr old lathe 😁

This is a tool thread... Keep your nighttime hobbies to yourself!

Well I’ll need an argon tank and will still need to figure out this water cooled stinger. The tig welder runs off the ark welder. Dolley, ark welder and tig welder for a total of $110 so far. I haven’t tried out anything if it works yet. Maybe I’ll plug in the ark welder?

Definitely a 1950’s setup.

Update on the Swan - pretty much complete.
Plumbed up and decently portable for when I need to rip over to my brothers garage to work on suzie (the cruisy) under cover. One day I'll have a garage. Renters can't be choosers.
Awesome little thing.

I am really liking the long extended Milwaukee 3/8, reach’s hard to get spots. Had it in a spot that my manual ratchet was barely two clicks, done in a few seconds

Never seen a starter so gutted, lucky to have a bj74 starter and alternator kicking around. Pro tip from mud. Never try to change out the bearings on the bendix(spelling). Starter motor no problem taking those bearings out

Do tell about removing the bendix bearings....

Just buy the unit new with bearings on, it is a big pain getting the tinny v clip hidden under a resting ring. Plus the bendix was very warn out where it contacts the ring gear

Flyinglow brought me this gem of a light from California, by far the best light I have ever used. Lasts for a full day of use and the magnet super strong.all metal housing

web surfing between workouts and work.
still trying to figure out if this jig is for sale. Pretty genius. Really need to learn this new(!) technology 3D printing stuff.

These guys are based in Alberta, Canadian made welding jig that is pretty amazing and if a person was going to use
that 3D thing above, then this tool below the end result would be as smooth and precise a flow rate thru exhaust or
turbo tubing as could be achieved at home. Kind of work I love to do, just need to do more of.

Milwaukee grease gun, makes giving the trailer bearings easy

Maybe I can get a quick answer here. I’ve got these Marlin Crawler seals for the axle tubes. Seem to have two variations. Anyone know which is newer or be considered more effective?
