Just for clarification, I was not criticizing your setup, just thinking through the long term affects. Your build is an inspiration for us all:cheers:

No offense taken since I'm learning as I go too. You simply asked my reasoning for choosing that set up and if I considered the cons; good logic when customizing.

Probably a dumb question but what do you mean when you say "double shear " ?

This would be steering arms in double shear:

....Oh let me take a seat... sheer Art in Metal to be sure. BEAUTIFUL job guys! boots4 just curious what the larger hold is on LEFT side engine mount at intersection line of top and front side? Relief of sorts or just how the stock metal came?

...um, that's "hole" not "hold"

Are you talking about the frame side motor mounts (driver side) we just made for Dirtgypsy's truck for his diesel swap?

Very nice indeed. I have a 4L65-E trans and I am using TCI transmission control unit. It is the older edition on which uses a serial data line to the laptop(now they have the EZ edition which is user friendly). It's fully adjustable through the laptop, as I am still trying to set the shifts up optimal to the throttle position and speed. It almost needs to be a 2 person job. One drive and the other tune. I am kind of wishing I went 700R4.

@Rastaforte

The hole in Dirtgypsy's driver side mount was intentionally placed there to allow access to a bolt on his AC compressor. That way he won't have to lift the engine to remove the compressor if he ever has to replace it. We cut half circles on both plates where the bolt was, lined them up and burned them in.

Yes, two people are just about a must and a laptop would make it easier too so I wouldn't have to unplug it and run back in the house. Still working on my tune. Overall it's close but I just want to tweak a few more spots. Even with the change back to my 38s (from undersized 37s) it hasn't really hurt the shift points. The thing that surprises me is how quickly it gets to and how often it cruises around town in OD. I'm probably going faster than I think but at least testing that on the car it's a similar thing, meaning it cruises in OD too at lower speeds. That's why I want to drive a couple other automatics to see how they shift. I'd be paying attention to different things this time. Probably the closest vehicle for me would be to drive a Ram equipped with a cummins and auto to see how it shifts at light and mid throttle.

You know that you are welcome to drive mine at any time! Let me know if you want me to drive it to the meeting tonight.

I was getting ready to ask you about that, so thanks for reading my mind. :)

I think I can make it to the meeting tonight but if not I'll give you a call and set something up for next week. I plan on taking notes.
