Sorry, posted the above too soon. I will be there early tomorrow morning. I will bring one of my Honda EU 2000 generators, some extension cords, gas, and maybe a surge protector. It looks like we won't be roughing it. As far as fire wood goes... Well, the pile out back was a little too "buggy" to load into my Cruiser for the trip- termites and beetles everywhere.. I did not wat to have to set off a fogger when I arrive just to be able to drive back. I will see if there is some pre-packaged firewood that is not too expensive.

See you soon.

I saw something about fall crawl 2015 in another thread but can't find anything here. Is there a thread going on this years?

I didn't read the thread, but the first thing I did see was Stump bringing the Fireball and cider! Kinda funny. Should we put a list together and pick items to bring? I believe it's the end of October, right?

So we all doing primitive camping at Rausch? Always was more fun when we camped there as a club.
Way the hell cheaper and logistically easier too. Think we have all the overlanding gear to make it comfortable enough for car camping.

I strongly support the plan to camp at Rausch. I can probably get up there early enough to stake a claim to our usual spot to the right as you come into the parking lot.

I'm thinking about going up a day early to get 3 days of wheeling in. Any one else interested in making it up on Wednesday?

I have not talked to Burl about it yet. He may not be able to make it out for any long weekends this year.

I just learned that you are supposed to have reservations to camp at RC.

Chris, count me in for the extra day of wheeling.

Bob, does one just call the office to make these reservations?

There's an email address on the RC website. I think it's info@rc4x4.com

As I understand it, the original plan was to camp a Rausch. I suspect we should get on reserving spots ASAP.

I'll try to give them a call today and see how many spots I can reserve. Whether they reserve individual spots or "areas," with each fire ring counting as a "site."

Bob was right. The outgoing message directs you to email Lynn about camping. Which I did, asking if I could secure the area around the 1st two fire rings on the right as you enter the parking lot for Thursday - Sunday, and Wednesday night, too, if they allow Thursday wheeling.

I'll plan on coming up Wednsday wheeling Thur, Fri, and Sat!

Just heard back from Lynn.

It's still pretty much first come, first serve with the campsites. They just require you to indicate which camp site you're in upon registration. That way they can deny future camping privileges if your site is left all screwed up.

Since we're heading up on Wed, we'll probably have first choice of camp sites, according to Lynn.

Looks like Wed is gonna be a good day to head north!

After looking around on Rausch's site, there will be some other "events" going on Sat. Looks like "Trails for Charlie"and "Womens Guided Ride" are the two bigger ones.
