Does anyone have a picture of the factory paint line where the A pillar meets the roof cap?

The paint line I am looking for would designate how Toyota went from white paint over the window area to the color on the roof cap.

My '74 has had some areas repainted, and the paint line is perpindicular to the A pillar.

For some reason it looks suspect to me. I do not think the factory would do it this way.

Can anyone confirm or deny?

I'd say your a little low. But don't think anyone will notice.

These are later curved door models but you get the idea.

This one shows an older one. Interesting writeup. Saying the early F motor got better gas milage.

Then there is this one Pretty sure it's a 67-68 model. The roof is not like any 55 I have seen. Don't know if this was a prototype or what.

Thanks Troll!

Interesting as it looks like the 2F 55's had a slanted paint transition line on the A pillar while the 1F Pig (bottom b/w picture) has a horizontal paint transition line...

Also, those brochures show the 55's with the later turn signals (which in my mind equals 2F) but it does not look like they have the 2F "big bump" hoods.

67-68 would've had the apron turn signals. i think it might be light reflecting off the roof that makes it look funny. hard to know since most of us haven't seen a shiny fj55 any time in the last few decades;)

I'm all about the tailgate

Yeah, I'm all about the tailgate anyway. First chance I get, I'm going tailgating so everyone around me can admire the greatness of my pig, but first- I have to actually fix the tailgate. Just ordered a tailgate handle from Trollhole so hopefully I can get it to work. Is it tricky to fix? Anyone here done it and can explain how it replace it- Me being a :censor: newbie and all I have no idea.

pretty simple. once you get the rear inspection panel off, you'll see how it all goes together. worst part is the couple times the you adjust the rods for the latch.
