Hey Guys.

Aside from my fuel lines running into and out of the carb do you have any ideas as to what would cause these drips on the front of the carb facing the radiator?

I had this rebuilt a few years ago and it runs really really well. But I didn't do the rebuild and carbs are new to me. I'm going to double check the fuel lines but I'm looking for advice as to other sources of an exterior leak.

I noticed one of the drips this morning and wiped it up. By 3pm today another drip has formed and then I noticed the second drip.

Thanks in advance for you help.

For some reason I can't get me second photo embedded. Sorry to make you click on the link.

I thought that could be the potential source and gave each one a little tightening. I'm afraid to over tighten them. Hopefully that was it. Can the sight window leak?

Yes, any of those areas can possibly leak, although it is not very common. I'd wipe it down and try to find the source after letting it sit for an hour or two. No smoking.

With a cold engine you could unscrew both of those plugs and replace the metal washer with a new copper washer. Put a rag down to catch (soak up) the gas that comes out the bowl. Behind the glass is an O-ring. That could be showing signs of old age. A good carb rebuild kit comes with new washers for those plugs and new O-ring. You never know, someone could have left out the washers. Previous owners do some very crazy things.

So my leak is for certain coming from the two bolts with red arrows above. I gave them each a snug when I originated this post. I'm questioning if I should try one last little snug but I'm fearful of overtightning. Is the carb aluminum?

Thank you

BTW. I'm down to it being just wet below the bolt. No drip but let's say half a drip. Over a much longer time frame.

My thoughts are to snug one more time and if that fails remove and replace the washer.
