I've worked on a number of lifted rigs, with stock links. What I notice just in normal DD on city street. The rig has a boaty feel, rocking side to side, like a 200 series LC. My thinking has been; too much tension on the sway bars. So I've been recommended the TT extended. No one yet has reported back to me, the feel. So I'm still wondering if the right call?

Well the "feel" is really subjective from one person to another. In my experience when switching to the extended links is that I felt less sway in normal DD (felt more flat on turns etc.). Full disclosure, I did also replace the rear upper and lower links to the metal tech ones at the same time, so not sure how much of an impact that had on the feel of the ride.

They certainly smoothed out the ride for me. I’m definitely a true believer.

Well, I'm not lifted so can't say personally. But it sounds like there is some smoothing there on lifted rigs. Now I'm interested more in the 'how'.

For the record i feel more body roll the sway bar is under less tension. The truck feels more like it should.

Assume you installed extended links after had driven lift for sometime. Did lifted with OEM factory links, feel boaty to you?
Boaty (Rocking gently just driving around slower speeds)

Ive driven with the lift for a while. Its been very stiff and the opposite of boaty. Now it feels like the suspension is actually going up and down, its working which translates to some body roll but thats totally normal. No pretension on swaybar.

If your truck is rocking back and forth that could be because its so stiff and following the bumps instead of absorbing them. If not, and its soft, with big body roll then no i didnt experience this.

Im glad this became a product ... it really does help the ride quality tremendously. When we were experimenting with this originally I took a lot of crap from well known forum members about this and that related to why it doesn't work to extend the links. In the end physics and real world testing proved it out.

Anyone had fitment trouble with these ? Mine arrived during the week, got the car apart now and they are not even close to fitting properly. I am about 10 to 15mm from hitting the steering stops and the top of the away bar link hits the factory brake line brackets supporting the line on the upright.

Incase you cannot picture it, the links hit here when steering.

Is stabilizer bar equal from side to side.
Any modification to UCA?
Is brake line bracket bent?
Is other tire on ground (weight bearing) like when diving off road.?

I've got a set coming from TT now. I'll be installing on 2.5" lift. I'll be looking for this also and will report back.

Hey @abuck99 you every hit brake line with your extended links?

Curious to see as well Paul. I'm at 22.75" up front, diff drop and UCAs on mine and will look to see if I have any hitting marks in the morning and report back as well.

@Hulsty what lift height are you running. Looks like a stock shock up front. Hub to fender measure?

J

No issues with mine.

Ive had the extended links for a few years; havent noticed interference with any components.
