Ha. Yeah 315's and gears feel fast. I liked that for sure. that goes away with the 37s but it still feels peppy in comparison to stock with 315s. I just installed the yellow box Speedo correction unit. Works great for the $. Easy to install. Def need it to help the shift points that get thrown off without any correction. 37s and no correction was off by 6 mph to fast ion Speedo.

It affects transmission shift points too? Interesting, didn't know that. I was just looking at their website the other day. Which version did you go with - splice or custom harness? Does this take into account tire size too?

You sure the shift points are by mph? I don't think it is but I could be wrong.

CLUSTER LEDs

Today I also installed a new set of cluster LEDs I purchased from member 'lilevo'. All 4 of the main bulbs for $15 shipped. I got the white color. Very nice improvement over the sad, dim little OEM halogen bulbs with plastic green covers. The light is nice and crisp.

Jose,

Do these look like the correct bulbs?

Jose,

Do these look like the correct bulbs?

In response to your PM also, no these are not the correct bulbs for the gauge cluster. I believe these are the 194 type that would go in your doors. The cluster bulbs are the twist on socket type.

WHAT HAVE I DONE???????

Couldn't wait any longer. I would have ordered from Discount Tire Direct but the Nittos are on a national backorder with no delivery date in sight. They wouldn't take the order and said to check back in 3-4 weeks. Screw that. I really wanted to order from DTD so I could purchase the replacement certificates too, oh well. Got them from TireBuyer and even though they charged me freaking commie tax, I was able to find a $70 coupon so they still came out cheaper than DTD.

Oh yeah - anybody local want some 35/17 Toyos in pretty good shape??? :)

Jose, is it possible that these bulbs might plug into the oem socket (part 83101) after removing the original green bulb. That's what there telling me at Tanin. I am trying to avoid ripping the dash apart to find out that I have the lights. I may even order that 83101 base to confirm beforehand.

Congrats on the tire purchase. If it goes anything like my purchase from tire buyer you'll have them tomorrow.

I can't believe how fast they ship.

Sweet! Man I really want my 37s already. Put about 50 more miles on the truck after posting up the pics. I'm really like them so far. Truck actually feels fast now - for a forklift. But holy crap my speedo is whacked out. At freeway speeds it reads 85 when I'm doing about 70 - that really messes with your head. Can't wait to see what difference they make in slow speed crawling.

This one! Gonna be a big ol shindig https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/spring-summer-lakes-basin-cruiser-trip-norcal.790057/

Damn! that looks like fun...too bad it's like 600 miles from me...maybe next year!

Nice choice Cardona. I had my eye on the mud grapplers. They are said to be beasts on the trail. Only thing that turned me away was how LOUD they are.

BTW I got the V2 yellow box. I spliced it in myself behind the glove box via the wire harness. And to note Landtank did a test on the unit changing shift points and he concluded it did change. It feels like it holds the gear longer IMO. My main goal was to have accurate miles driven. No need to rack up extra miles on my already high mileage 80. (211k)
Tire size doesn't matter as you dial it in either via math or the easy way by GPS comparision. Took a few trips down the road to get it very close.

Ha no kidding! Got a shipping confirmation already and they're scheduled to show up on Thursday! These guys don't mess around. I'm travelling for work so I had to request a hold for pickup. Otherwise the wife would be pissed if I make her lug four 90lb tires inside the house. I was sure they'd be here next week!

Yeah I know they're gonna be LOUD. Saw a few clips on Youtube. But I'm hoping they make up for it in offroad traction. And thanks for the tips on the Yellow Box. Makes sense about the transmission shift points if it relies on that one signal. I'll be ordering this shortly!

It's hard to say without seeing the bulbs in person but they look too big, like the typical license plate lights. Hopefully they work for you though.

It's about time you got some 37's. :D I'd buy your 35s, but I live in Texas.

What wheel offset, width, backspacing are you running for the 37's?

I'm gonna be running the same wheels, just swapping tires. Wheels are 17x9, -12mm, 4.5"BS. I know I'm gonna have some tire rubbing but I don't want to go higher. I'll be trimming the inner and outer fenders as needed, the rear too.

Nice, can't wait to see some pics with those tires on. I have been itching to go 37s for a while too. Happy trimming

gears and 37's im :jelly:

I was trying to beat you to 37's, too, but I didn't know what size wheels to run, so I haven't ordered them yet. I guess you win. :flipoff2:

It look like from the pictures you have, you'll be trimming the rear portion of the front fender wells quite a bit. Might have to do some welding, but it would be worth it. That or step up to Slee's 6" kit to push the front axle forward, and just use their 4" springs since you don't want to go higher.

Looking forward to some pics!

Ha! I won't be back in the US until this weekend so mounting the tires will have to wait. I'm hoping I can drive the truck normally without too much rubbing as I'll be too busy with work in the coming weeks to cut the fenders. But yeah 6" lift isn't an option. That's way too tall and tippy for the trails in my area. 6" lift and 37s is buttpucker city in the off-camber stuff.

Since I'd eventually like to 3-link the front I'm going to cut a lot out of the front fenders to make sure I can stuff the tire in the future. With the stiff ass radius arm setup, only thing I have to worry about right now is doing full turns since the stock setup isn't going to let the tire stuff anyways.

I did test fit a 37 a while back and didn't have much rubbing while just driving around the block. The dimensions of the Super Swamper M16 are pretty much identical to the Mud Grappler, even actual tire height.

I just put DynaPro's 35" on my Pig and am already wishing I just went with 37's. I havent gotten my lift sorted out yet but I would have just pulled the ends of the front bumper and removed what ever I needed to. Looking good Jose, I'm borrowing a lot from your thread to help in my build. Planning on starting a thread here soon. I've been stock piling parts for it for over 2 months now. Keep up the good work man.
