I have decided to get off my arse and install these things. Before doing it I wanted to ask if everyone that has already installed their can post some photo's. I just wanted to see where the bext place would be to drills holes and put them on the pig. :p

just slapped some on my Pig. picts are in this folder:
Picasa Web Albums - Brian - FJ55
I had to cut a fairly large hole on the inner fender, but now I can store stuff in there.
Also used a heat gut to massage them.
Mine are cheapo knock-offs I picked up in Central America. They don't fit flush against the fender as the mounting stud sticks out past the body of the signal. But, from 5' away, they look ok.

1971 FJ55 Hooptie Project

scroll down to see pics of the holes. They fit nicely with a bit of heat gun adjustments.

Good look for a pig.

If I remember correctly, they don't really fit next to the headlamps, they are a little long and pushed up against the fender, the corners would hang off the front.

I might be wrong, since it has been a long time since I have worked on a pig, but when I was looking for places to put the lights on my pig, now Eric's pig. :-) The only place that worked well was where they are. Even then I should have heated them a little more are shapped them so they they sat a touch lower.

Lets see what you come up with!!
Ryan.

thanks bro....

I was thinking either around that area or right next to the headlamps more like those on the 70 series. Right now its been snowing, raining, wet and cold to do anything outside.

I was just wondering where I could find those type of signals in the U.S. I like the looks of them but wonder how hard they are to replace if damaged? Cost?

You can or could order them from SOR, and there is a canadian cruiser parts company, ummm I think it was GS Cruiser Parts that could get them brand new, because they are used on the 70 series mine trucks they outfit.

Ryan,
Great to see you are back on here! Guessing you never left, just lurked!!!
Pig is stored for the winter. All things considered, doing well. It wheeled once for a mild breakin, then again for more breakin time and some more aggressive stuff. It did extremely well all day. Never used the locker til the end cause I forgot to turn it on. You built one hell of a cruiser my friend. Let me know if you want to wheel in the spring.

Eric,

Thats great, I am sure that there are going to be quite a few things that need tweeking, since I never had it out of the shop let alone offroad. haha.

Really glad to hear that it is working out! I would love to see some pictures of you wheeling if you managed to take any!

Thanks again,
Ryan.
