I'd also pass on the shackle reversal, just not needed. I do have a SR on a 45...works fine but I have done others since without and don't see the need. I'd spend the extra on OME suspension or other stuff the 40 needs

Emergency was a great TV show....

I think you need to do this over the phone with a MUD supporting parts vendor rather than CCOT online. Kurt with Cruiser Outfitters, Onur with Land Cruiser Parts and Consulting, Mark with Mark's Off-road, Georg with Valley Hybrids, list could go on. It really helps to have a parts Sherpa on the FJ40 journey rather than guessing what you need. $5k is quite a lot but should be strategically spent rather than blowing it all on parts you may or may not need. What good is a lifted 40 if the thing won't idle, for example. I also agree to stick with OEM or high quality aftermarket parts like Terrain Tamer. Again, a parts Sherpa can help you decide what's worth getting OEM and what to get after market.

Hey everyone! Just wanted some experienced eyes to take a look. 1978 fj40 ran perfectly but then it sat for 10 years. Sat covered. I'm going to order all of this tonight. Anything I'm missing? Thanks!

First, what year is the truck? The first post lists it as a 78. Post #3 says it's a 68 with an F engine??

That's a pretty long list! I would make sure the truck needs all this stuff first. Is the fuel tank leaking? if so, the CCOT one is not a bad option(one thing good is their fuel sender is compatible with the fuel gauge cluster).
The tie-rod ends are still available from Toyota(they are $, but will fit, and outlast the aftermarket stuff by many,many years){are yours loose/worn?}
Fuel filter should be one of those glass see-through ones(Dorman?)you don't have to wonder if your filter is plugged--you can see it(<$20,including 3 new filter elements)
I think OEM fuel pump is still available--don't go aftermarket junk-get the rebulidable one from Toyota.{why do you think you need a new one?}
Clutch master and slave can be had from the original supplier(Aisin)--don't go with cheaper knockoffs-again, are the ones on the truck leaking or otherwise not functioning?--both can easily be rebuilt)
Belts can still be had from Toyota--the Napa/autozone/whatever, will not work(they have the wrong width, and depth){always good to have a spare, here}
Points/plugs/wires/rotor/cap---only go with Toyota OEM(all available)-those aftermarket points will wear out way before their time{that little rub-strip that rides against the dizzy shaft will wear out in less than 1000 miles, closing up the point gap,changing timing, and causing the classic vacuum reduction(the aftermarket stuff is made of plastic, not the OEM Phenolic)}
Whichever engine you have(F or 2F), the water pump should? be ok(unless you have data to the contrary) The part that most likely will need replacement is the water outlet housing--
All this is stuff I had to deal with on my 77--maybe will help. Good luck with the Cruiser

dont buy anything from CCOT. learn my lesson. they are overpriced, OEM for most of what you need is FAR superior than anything from CCOT. especially cooling hoses.

heres your new list:
find a new or good used OEM steel fuel tank and sender - @beno or maybe marks offroad
new fuel pump - city racer LLC
TRE's - cruiser outfitters
front axle rebuild kit - cruiser outfitters
skip shackle reversal
old man emu kit 2.5" is probably plenty - cruiser outfitters
all clutch parts - oem
all brake parts - oem as much you can
air cleaner - oem
fuel filter - get the cheap clear plastic wix
brake MC - got mine pretty cheap brand new OEM on ebay
