They supply fridges, freezers, etc... to Costco, and they happen to be next door to where our printed circuit boards are populated....unbelievable volume.

Their 10% off sale is still more than Slee or other mud venders regular price. Slee has the 35 Qt for $649 vs their sale of $679.

Says discount taken off at time of checkout. That means a bit less than Slee ($612) or others plus free shipping which is quite a bit. Slee quoted me $119 for shipping for the 64 qt. IIR.

sale is now 5%.

I was going to wait for the 45qt. but I was over budget to begin with. Got the 10% off and bit the bullet.

So.... Plug it in..... Got it!

Man, I hate waiting! One more day baby....

you gonna weld anything to it? :D

I will be doing some welding because I just saw a photo of how tall the thing really is in the back of a cruiser with a drawer system and I don't want to "stick my hand in the potato salad every time I reach for a beer". I think I might have to redesign my system to allow for a lower approach to the fridge but still have room to throw in the matt and bag for sleeping. I will
have to take out a drawer and put a slider in to allow for a roll out fridge. Just another morf in the system. Time to plug in Sparky!

As others here told me before I bought my fridge/freeze: "It will be your favorite accessory purchase"...and it is! You'll be continually amazed to NOT eat soggy sandwiches, have the beer bottle labels pile up in the ice water, be able to put all sorts of different things in there and not have it come out as one big wet 'soup'...and geez I absolutely love it during hunting season...my lunch doesn't taste like raw chukar anymore;) . You'll become the best darn fridge/freeze salesman...well at least ONE of the best darn fridge/freeze salesmen:D .

Oh yeah: Congratulations!

Thanks for the input! When my Son and I were in Moab last year we got to a great camp spot the third day and we set up camp and got out the grill and started to prep for a couple great T Bones and hash browns and I reached in one of the coolers to get a couple beers for the boys and all I could smell when I opened the top was blood and beef from a 2lb. bag of soggy ground chuck that had been sloshing around for two days:mad: . I started thinkin right there that all the stuff I had heard about these fridges had to be true and I really needed one. When we got back the wife was washing out the coolers and expressed some distain about the mess and smell and I told her about the "no more ice option" and when she agreed I never looked back. This sound really dumb  but this is better than Christmas. And I agree, this is my most looked forward to acc purchase!

For me, the Diet Coke junkie, the best thing about the fridge is being able to add to it. You add warm sodas to a 3 day old cooler, you kill the ice and cold. With the fridge, you can just keep adding to it throughout your trip. Love it.

Well, the boys in brown showed up at 10:00am sharp and droped off a little gift. I was suprised to see that it came with the AC as well as the DC plugs as the ad said it came only with the DC and, low and behold, I just checked price and it droped another $11.15  got the refund. I really hate to say it but for the first time in my life I am actually 100% satisfied :D . (Well... there was that one BJ)! I am suprised at how quiet it is and how quickly it cools down. I turned it to #2 and it turned on and shut down in less than ten minutes. It has been recycling every five minutes or so and that is empty. My Son looked at and the first words out of his mouth were "No more ice Dad"! Time for a road trip! I might have to make the Moab trip solo this year. :bounce:

And the obligitory photo.

Congrats,
They really are money... If I had to tell anyone the first mod it'd be fridge hands down.

FYI: I am able to keep a plastic air-tight container of ice cubes for cocktails with mine set for fridge temp mode...I just place them at the bottom corner of my Waeco which is the coldest spot on mine. They keep for several days without thawing!
