Plug is fine, definitely my wiring…just started a preliminary pull and inspected the spare harness that I just got. Turns out #6 injector harness wire is on same mini branch that the EGR temp sensor wire is on….wiggled mine a bit and I can see that my #6 injector harness plug is broken and flopping around, not even attached to the injector. I must have pulled it off when wrangling with the EGR wire to put the resistor in.

Bad news, still need to pull the intake to fix it…good news is I know exactly what my problem is! Since was planning on pulling anyway, I already have all new hoses, gaskets, injector rebuild kit, and 6 new pigtails with injector harnesses in hand…now it’s time to get busy!

Pic is #6 injector harness flopping around…

Pic of the broken injector harness plug that wasn't even attached to the injector! I'll have the manifold off tonight, but what I can see now is a lot of corrosion on the injector electrical pins, meaning that this has been a lurking gremlin for a while that I suspect has hassled me for the last year now.

Nice find. It sounds like you already have the parts you need, but for others searching in the future, Ballinger Motorsports sells the plastic connector and a version with wire pigtails attached. I used the ones with pigtails to replace the burned up, cracked and toasted portions of my injector harness when I did this repair.

I’d say so…#5, then 6…:poop:

New injectors on the way, keychains from @Delta VS and I should be good…with the @LC4LIFE resistor in place…:wrench::wrench:

I assume looking at your photos with the EGR pipe on the bench that you used two Delta VS keychains.....one on the upper intake manifold and then another on the head? Which two did you order?
Also did you use new gaskets under the keychains?

#1 and #2 for mine which is a 94 with OBD1 if that makes a difference.

Hmm, mine is a 97 and OBD 2 so would probably be different.

Not necessarily, call or message @Delta VS , they’ll know for sure. Got mine running today, best power I’ve had for years!

Yeah good call. I just sent a message. I’m looking forward to a little more power. I’m on 35 with stock gearing so need all the help
I can get. Lol

Ooof! I have 4:56's plus the 10% under drive which helps a bit. Consider the under drive as the easiest and least expensive option for sure!

I’ve been slowly collecting parts for a 6BT/NV4500 swap so I don’t have to suffer forever.

Nice option on the swap, considering similar or turbo when it's available for OBD1.

And back to the test kit, works like a charm now and gives the option to really clean up the rear intake area and reduce heat quite a bit with the keychains and a few parts removed back there... ;)

So Delta got me squared away and some keychains arrived today. Did you remove all the crap from under your upper intake manifold since you had it off? I'd like to remove as much as possible and disable (for testing purposes of course) the EGR but retain the evap/charcoal canister function. They seem to so a bit intertwined but not sure.

I'm a '94 on OBD1, if I remember correctly, yours is a bit younger than mine on OBD2. I left everything under the intake, but just re-did all of the vacuum/rubber lines under there (and on top too). I removed and capped anything vacuum line wise that was related to the EGR valve and intake manifold setup and popped in the Hudd Expo resistor plug in the harness. I definitely had a vacuum leak under load with one of them that was dry and cracked...I don't think you have it on yours, but on a tee that has a larger than usual hose that goes right into the intake by the throttle body...it was basically just floating on the tee, waiting for hard throttle vacuum to suck some extra air (in the 3rd pic on the white/yellowed tee). All of the charcoal canister stuff remains in place on mine and seems to function properly.

I'm running great now...I have a load of stuff to take to the dump in the next few days, so I'm anxious to hook up the M101A2 with a load to see how it pulls compared to before...should add about 2000-2200 lbs with the trailer and dump materials.

Yeah yours looks a little different than mine. I am prepared to replace all the hoses and reinstall and then disable with the Hudd kit. I’ve had it for a while, just need to locate it. I have a couple of hoses that are basically petrified at this point. I replaced all the easy to reach vacuum lines and coolant hoses two years ago, just couldn’t get to theses very well.

And yeah my truck needs to go back together so I can launch my boat for the season. It’s my only tow vehicle. I’m a little heavier than 2200 though 😂

Bumping this thread to give @LC4LIFE and huddexpo.com credit for having an excellent product and backed by real customer service.

My order was lost in shipping. I contacted @LC4LIFE, I received prompt response, and was asked to wait till it could be taken up with USPS. I had an update the next day: USPS would not call it lost yet, it had been in transit for 12 days, but needed to be 14(or something like that) before they would even start the lost package process. Instead of passing that wait(and potential run around) on to me, @LC4LIFE packaged and shipped another to make me whole.

Lots of effort was put in after the sale, this good customer service deserves recognition.

I appreciate it. Pleasure working with you too.

Ok I finally decided to go ahead and order the Hudd Expo EGR test plug kit. I think I've done enough research to make up my mind.
The AFR is the only issue I was concerned of with a part of egr inert gas in the combustion chamber when the egr is working. Hopefully, the resister reading will tell the ecm that there's no inert gas and let adequate amount of fuel in, so there won't be any pre-detonation.
Sounds like lot of you are running the delete successfully for years. 🎉
