Hope everyone's safe.. that was quite the earthquake here in Anaheim. Supposedly centered in Chino Hills at 5.6-5.8.

I've never seen cars move up and down like that before and i've lived here my whole life... it was like hydraulics. Stuff was falling off our racks in the warehouse.

Anyways, hope everyone is safe.

Phones are down... wish my mom had a HAM radio right now! LOL!

Try being on the 9th floor of an office building. Quite a ride!!! We evacuated for about 15 minutes.

Wish I had the truck here and the radio installed!!!

My GF called me because she felt it at our house (2nd floor near Downtown S.D.) but my buddy and I were at lunch sitting at tabled cemented into the ground and felt nothing. Everyone I talked to right now at the office didn't feel anything either. Glad you guys are OK and I bet it was a ride for those of you close to the epicenter.

USGS has it as a 5.4 now. Still was a wild swaying ride up 9 floors. First time I've been in an earthquake in the 26 years I've lived here where I was not on tera firma! REAL sinking feeling knowing you're 9 floors up and there's only one way to go and that's down!

I was in Fontana for our weekly meeting. the Building shooked pretty good. Not too far from the epi center I guess...

I was at a KFC parking lot checking my order looking for chicken thighs (which I dont like). When my truck began slowly rocking back and forth.

I thought it was the Mitsu engine about to throw up or something.

Then I look up and the Escalade beside me was doing the same thing. Thats when I realized it was an earthquake rocking and a rolling. Oh yeah - they got my order right - no chicken thighs!

I was 7 floors up in Anahiem. Real sinking feeling to know that there is nothing you can do. If the building goes you are going with it. First time I have ever been in a highrise during an earthquake. Pretty much sucks, just happy that everone was ok.

I was doing inspections on a 30 story high-rise under construction in downtown San Diego. Just got off the man-lift on the 25th floor when it shook. It was a cool ride- some of the "skilled" laborers got really bug eyed. The elevator and cranes shut down for the day- union rules. Had to take the stairs down and it ended my day as well.

Hey Tare, little off topic.. but did you see that crane/boom (whatever its called) thing fall over down the street from your building a couple weeks ago?

Apparently they were using it to lift some materials up for the condo's their building on Katella.. and over it went. I drove right past it when it happened. Im still wondering if the guy lived. It was nutty.

I was on the 118 Fwy leaving Simi Valley and felt NOTHING! My kids (in Simi Valley)said the house shook a little bit but not too bad.

Dynosoar

Ive got a 3 story town house and I was on the 3rd floor talking to Georg (Orangefj45) at Valley Hybrids when it hit. At first I told him, "hey how cool an earthquake". Then it kept going. Then it jolted with a few big sways. The whole time yelling for my son to take cover in case anything started falling. The whole time Georg is like, "dude, are you ok?" HAHA.

:D

Big bang here in Costa Mesa then lot's of rollers. I knew it came from the north right away cause the house just swayed so hard south. My daughter came busting down the stairs crying and as we exited the house my FJ was still rocking:). I need OME heavies bad.

Mother Nature is so bada**ss and just makes you realize who's boss!

Never heard a thing about that. Did not even know it happened until now. Hope eveyone was ok.

I LOOOVE the feeling of an earthquake (sick, I know) but this time I was in the shower hoping the glass wouldn't break! Dog got up and walked in a couple of circles then went back to sleep before it was even over. I'm such a wimp.

I dont even mess around anymore. First jolt and I was on my way under my desk. It always seems like its not the big one until you realize it is! haha I'll just assume anything that lasts past one jolt has the potential and take cover accordingly :D

I was in big bear during the 7.4 landers quake and I just remember violent shaking and everything in our whole damn house falling and breaking around us. It was crazy, like it was trying to rip our house down.

On a funnier note, we've got a guy in our office who's never been in an earthquake. He comes running out of his office and sees everyone else under their desks and starts screaming, "What do I do?! What do I do?!" We all took a moment to laugh at him when the ride stopped. So far today he's "felt" two aftershocks haha:lol:
