Just color. Guy has multiple 1st gens. If i wasnt in negotiations with the wife and stuck at work for a week id consider more seriously. Go take a look.

the 1st gen 4runner search has been offically called off. I got Natalie in one the other day and there were 2 shocking questions I wasn't prepared for as I thought they were obvious:
1. It's only 2 doors? and
2. It doesn't have air bags?
she is a. a mom and b. has a point, as did Mardis and a few others, on 4 doors.
sigh.....she is still on the 60 kick but I pointed out they don't have air bags either.
Jury is out now on 60 or 100 series..... more to follow in the appropriate thread(s)

Airbags are good in s*** can small cars. I am not sure I would rely on a 15 year old airbag in a 100 series as a buying point. I have kids also and I would rather have steel in the front of me than rely on a balloon coming out of the dash.
So.... The implication is that those of us sporting older rigs don't care about our children? (Just kidding) Kids in the back seat soooooo what kinda airbags you looking for? Must be a big sucker!
airbags are in the cars that are designed with crumple fronts for people who get distracted and plan to run into other distracted people in crumple fronts. You will be one of the people they hate because your truck is designed not to crumple, and gets low mpg. In a Landcruiser, instead of "they walked away", you show the crumpled up car that hit them and then pan to the LC "they drove away"

yes, according to my wife, she is the only one worried with SAFETY....maybe ill just buy a volvo with 30 side curtain air bags......or maybe this is all a comment on my driving style??
I had it AAALLLL planned out, then she threw in .02 ....then .10 then 10 bucks......one day I'll learn to just show up with the truck and ask questions later.
