I've been meaning to snap a pic; I'm pretty sure that I have an early sender after all. It's attached to an F135 under a storage rack, which is why I didn't see it on the shelf.

Happen to be an FJ25 one with the the threaded terminal connection?

Looks like an aftermarket unit. The FJ25 version had female threads with a slotted m6 (or maybe m5 or m4) slotted hex screw. Same with the fuel sender and oil sender.

Thanks. I am still looking for OEM mats for my 83 FJ. I haven't figured out how to PM on this site as of yet so if you can point me in the right direction I can PM you regarding the mats or you can post pics and price here I suppose.
