Totally random question: With the software/methods you use, how long did it take to add the perforations to the existing model for the above photo?

A long time ago I did some CAD and I'm curious what the current state of design efficiency is for processes like this.
I'm using Solidworks and used the seed cut option in the fill pattern feature. It took a couple minutes to add the perforations to all the skid parts.

Well, since it is the correct date (look at the date), I might offer these updated skids for maximum mud drainage. Removes 10lbs..lol View attachment 3596935
These would be a hit in Wisconsin at their industrial cheese grating competitions.

Did you 3D scan the bottom of the cruiser as the basis for your attachment system design? That tech is amazing…I have played with it a little in the custom medical device space.

Yes, I got tired of physically measuring. It is a bit difficult to do the scanning on such a large object.

Sorry for terrible pictures, I have a 08 LC, the mounts that hold on the bumper are in the way of the front shield piece. Is there a way to fix this?

This is what I did. You have to bend or remove the brackets the bumper is currently bolted to. I think there have been a couple different methods proposed earlier in this thread.

Or you can take a hack saw to the hex at the ends and clear the tabs like I did.

It is completely optional to run the power steering cooler gaurd. See my posts about what I did to mine, starting here . It is similar to what @lx200inAR did.
As far as I can tell, the Lexus bumper mounts to the front of the crash bar, versus the LC is mounts to the rear of the crash bar. I think the only option is to cut it like @bloc.

I think it could be made to fit if the angle of the bend was different, it would need to be much flatter. Personally I’d gladly pay for a LC version.

Just to be clear, both Turbo8 and I have these mounted on LXs. Your OEM bumper does seem to wrap around a little bit more (assuming maybe you have a 13-15 or newer LX), but I don’t see anything there stopping you from doing what we did. The front guard doesn’t mount to the aluminum bumper support, it only fills the gap. All you need to do is cut the tabs from the plastic bumper and bend (or cut off) the brackets that the plastic bumper is bolted to. Then it’s fairly trivial to run a couple bolts through the plastic bumper into that aluminum support. Or just do what bloc did and trim the guard so it doesn’t interfere with any of that stuff.

Okay, I understand the difference now. I think it's possible to do the same thing, but it would require a spacer between the crash bar and bumper.
I ended up cutting the bracket like Bloc.
What are your thoughts on turning it backward so that it rests on the crash bar @turbo8? Like the photos before. Would it be an issue if the impact came from below and pushed the crash bar up? Also, do you think cutting this defeats the purpose of protecting the power steering?

It doesn't really matter at this point since you already resolved the interference. But I don't think a spacer is super necessary (I considered putting something behind the bumper, but in the end didn't bother). The bumper is designed to flex around that connection anyways, since it's a point where the body is "attached" to the frame, and those things move quite a bit independently of each other. I suspect that's why it's just a tab there, so that it can move around.

Update:

2 sets left with slight imperfections in the skid plates. They have a pretty good discount.

Rear low profile bumper is available for pre-order at a new lower price. (Need 15 pre-orders)

We will turn off ordering from the 23rd until early July, as we will be out of the country.

Was there a post about slight imperfection ones? I think I missed that, potentially interested.

This is probably the post about it.
