I'm in for five (5), great idea, thanks!

I would like to offer, if I can supply you with this tires from Indonesia.
What do you think?

Thank you.

I think it could be our best bet judging by the low response to this thread.

What kind of information do you have...can you give us tire prices, and possible shipping quotes to California...or Boston...I will ask someone who imports often to contact you privately :)

What are these? (Not mine...)

Dunlop Snow Cruiser 78. Standard US Cruiser tire after RK3, before Desert Dueler HR78.

So the Dunlop Snow Cruiser replaced the RK3 as the OEM tire in 1978? When did the Desert Dueler HR78 start coming in on the cruisers?

There is a third tire that came in between the RK3 and the snow cruiser. I have a couple of them on a rack in the shop, but the name escapes me at the moment.

As far as production dates, they're a little fuzzy too. It seems to me the newest cruiser I pulled an RK3 from was about a 1972. And I don't remember pulling a snow cruiser off of anything that didn't have a tubular tire carrier, which would put those at late '76, early 77.

Nothing definitive for sure, just the realm of my experience.:)

Thanks for the info. and I look forward to finding out what tires you have that came after the RK3 and before the Snow Cruiser. I thought the RK3 seemed like a bit of a dated tire design for use up till 78. It would be interesting to see the progression of the stock tires for the 40, 45, and 55 series. Seems like it would be another great piece of the cruiser history to document since we are constantly trying to figure out all aspects of it.

Cheers!

Not 1978.

That is the name of the tire "SnowCruiser 78", because it is the tire that goes from old bias sizing (7.00x15LT) to the width/percent sizing (H78-15, H width,78% height).

After bias snow cruiser in the mid 70's, comes HR78-15 Snow Cruiser 78 radial.

Then comes Desert Dueler HR78-15, sometime in the early 1980's. Maybe corresponding w/ FJ60 intro?

then comes Dueler P225/75R15, sometime at the end of 60, beginning of FJ62 production...

That's all I know.

My 84 FJ-60 still has a snocruiser under it for a spare, so they had them for a few years.

The tire is still in perfect condition, not a single crack or discoloration on it. Should probably be replaced, but can't see a reason why beyond age. Even had to run it once or twice, then stuck it back under there.

Seen alot of newer tires with minimal use and age start cracking and deteriorating, must have been good rubber.
